What exactly has Zac Efron been up to — or, better yet, where in the world has Zac Efron been? It’s a relevant question, considering we haven’t seen much of the handsome actor in the last year. But as it turns out, he’s been working on not one, but two reality TV shows. It looks like we’re about to see a lot more of The Greatest Showman star. Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported on rumours swirling that Zac Efron had been lying low in Byron Bay, Australia, to escape the coronavirus pandemic. But, apparently that's just where the actor happened to self-isolate during his world tour of travels for two different shows, Killing Zac Efron and his next project, Down to Earth with Zac Efron. The later was just announced Wednesday, and is set to premiere on Netflix, July 10th. It will reportedly feature the actor as he "travels around the world and searches for healthy, sustainable ways to live." Surely, this is right up his alley. Efron, after all, has been known for his healthy lifestyle, revealing an incredible physique for projects like Baywatch. In the first-look images, he's seen examining a honeycomb, among other activities (seemingly set in tropical locale). Colour us intrigued. Killing Zac Efron, on the other hand, is a Quibi adventure series that follows the actor as he ventures "deep into the jungles of a remote, dangerous island to carve his own name in expedition history.” While filming in Papua New Guinea back in December, Efron made headlines when he was flown to a hospital in Brisbane for urgent medical attention. In the post, he wrote, “Very thankful to everyone who has reached out. I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing 3 weeks in P.N.G. I'm home for the holidays with my friends and family."
Discussing his Quibi series with Deadline, Efron explained that he loves to thrive under extreme circumstances. "I am excited to explore any uncharted territory and discover what unexpected adventure awaits!" Well, Zac, we look forward to experiencing these adventures alongside you… from the comfort of our living rooms, of course.[video_embed id='1983397']BEFORE YOU GO: Penn Badgley calls Chris D’Elia’s reported behaviour ‘disturbing'[/video_embed]
