Universal’s newly rebooted and more niche Monster Universe is shaping up quite nicely. Leading the hopeful franchise is the remake of the 1933 classic, The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss. The film centers on Cecilia, the wife of an abusive tech giant who stages his death, only to hunt her from beyond the grave. Leaning into the disturbing nature of domestic abuse, Cecilia is gaslighted and slowly driven mad, trying to prove her husband’s death was a hoax, and she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
