Told over the course of a century, the quirky flick follows an immigrant worker at a pickle factory in the 1900s who is accidentally preserved in a barrel of pickle brine and wakes up in modern-day Brooklyn. Rogen plays both Herschel Greenbaum, an Ashkenazi Jew from the old country who finds himself a fish out of water when he wakes up in 2020, and Ben Greenbaum, a shy and mild-mannered computer programmer and Herchel’s only surviving relative.
