The Good Place is constantly using her large platform to speak out about women’s issues like intersectional feminism, body positivity, and institutionalized racism, and we cannot stan her enough for that. Come for the class, stay for the sass! But she's still highly relatable, and like the rest of us, she can get a little messy and that's exactly what happened when she told this absolutely bonkers story on
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.She was there promoting the series finale of
The Good Place, and she told a tale (we're not even totally sure is real) of the time she tried to have her way with the buffet table at an Oscars party and took out an A-list celeb in the process. As she tells it, a few years ago she was at a giant Oscars party (“You had Charlize Theron there. Gwyneth was there, Edward Norton. It was insane!”), but no one knew who she was at the time. So as anyone who finds themselves alone at a swanky party would do, she naturally migrated toward the food platters. Celebrities: they’re just like us!
“So I had a bite of steak,” she explained. “It was incredible and I was like, ‘No one else is eating this. I should take some of this home with me.’ And so I take a plate and I pile a steak on, and I'm like, ‘I could take like 10 more of these.’ So I pile 10 giant steaks onto a plate."
