While it's fun and uplifting to hear what celebs are doing to help efforts combating COVID-19, we can't forget to highlight all the ways frontline healthcare workers are really sacrificing everything to save lives. Jimmy Kimmel found out about mother-daughter nursing duo, Uchenna and Ona, who traveled to NYC from Arkansas to help at the overwhelmed hospitals there. That’s a huge sacrifice just in one family. So Jimmy decided to make their day a little more special... and he got by with some help from one of his
Friends. Could we *be* any more excited?Uchenna told her story via video chat, explaining how she left Nigeria after a bad marriage and worked fast food jobs to pay her way through nursing school (dang, this woman is impressive). Afterwards, Courteney Cox joined in on the chat, much to the ladies' shock and delight.
“We know that you're busy saving lives,” she said with a huge smile, “but we also heard that you have never experienced New York Pizza!” Suddenly Uchenna and Ona had before them a massive New York Style pizza pie, donated by F&F Pizzeria in Brooklyn. As the women marveled at the surprise, Jimmy added that they'd be sending 100 more pizzas to their unit at the hospital. He then drew their attention to the pepperoni arrangement on top, which said “10K.”“Our friends at Mary Kay wanted to thank you for your work and your courage,” he explained. “So they're giving you each $10,000 to spend however you like!” All the other nurses in Uchenna and Ona's New York units will also be receiving Mary Kay skincare gift boxes and hand sanitizers. *Sniffle* No, you're crying. They ended the segment by teaching the ladies how to
properly eat a New York Style pizza—you gotta fold it— and while it took a little instruction, they mostly got there. These women spend their days intubating, inserting IVs and saving lives, so they can eat pizza however they want.[video_embed id='1954140']RELATED: Courteney Cox is also rewatching ‘Friends’ in quarantine[/video_embed]This isn’t the first time a
Friend castmate has showed up on
Jimmy Kimmel Live! to give back to the frontline healthcare workers. Back in April, Courteney’s BFF Jennifer Aniston
did the exact same thing for a nurse who had contracted the virus and had to isolate herself from her husband and young baby.Of course, Courteney
stuck around for a bit to talk about her own life in quarantine, and with Mother’s Day coming up on the weekend, Courteney shared a funny anecdote about her 15-year-old daughter Coco (whom she shares with ex-hubby David Arquette) who got her a rather unorthodox gift last year.“Last year Coco got me a book, I think, called
The Sound of Farts,” she smiled. “And like, I love farts! I do—I love a fart joke, but I don't want that! I want to have a nice handwritten letter something talking about her feelings for me.”Did Courteney Cox just say, “I love farts?” Add that to the list of things we didn't think we'd be hearing today.[video_embed id='1952591']BEFORE YOU GO: Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher can’t stop laughing on ‘Tonight Show’[/video_embed]
