It was the final chance for hopeful dancers who didn’t get a unanimous no during the Qualifier round, but also didn’t get at least two yeses. Tuesday’s episode of World of Dance (Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on CTV) featured the final Call Back auditions and saw the judges make some tough decisions while going from 10 groups to four. Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough had the final say on who would be moving through to the Duels and who would be packing their matching tracksuits and going home. Side note, we need to start investing in more tracksuits. All 10 groups took the judges notes from the qualifiers and came back stronger, but not everyone showed enough improvement to advance to the next round. While groups like Avant Garde Collective and Project 21 displayed an impressive level of creativity and inventiveness in their choreography, the competition is so steep this season that even solid teams didn’t make the final cut.[video_embed id='1966249']RELATED: Derek Hough’s latest project is all about inspiring kids to move in new ways[/video_embed]When the final four were eventually announced, two Canadian groups rose to the top. Oh, Canada! The Young Cast, GRVMNT, Team 305 and The Rise secured the final four spots in the Duels and proved that sometimes you just need a second chance.

THE YOUNG CAST

The dance crew from Quebec have tried out for World of Dance in previous seasons and TBH, their performance during the Qualifiers felt like enough to move directly through to the Duels. But maybe we’re (definitely) playing favourites. There was no question after Tuesday’s performance about whether the crew was ready for the Duels. The hip hop dancers delivered a non-stop, high energy performance set to Justin Bieber’s “Children.” We see you repping Biebs, Young Cast, and we are here for this Can-Con.

GRVMNT

Okay, so we did joke earlier about being sliiightl preferential towards the Canadian crews, but speaking as impartially as possible, the Young Cast and GRVMNT had the strongest showings on Tuesday night. The Vancouver-based crew grooved hard and hit even harder, amping up the judges and each other throughout their action-packed performance. Their transitions were straight out of a synchronized figure skating routine and their execution was flawless. We’d say don’t sleep on this crew, but watching their routine is like downing three energy drinks, so yeah, we’re up.

TEAM 305

If GRVMNT were three energy drinks on a Tuesday night, Team 305 were four tall cans. The Latin dance crew brought an intensity that could only be matched their hot pink costumes. Showing poise and passion, the group burned holes in the dance floor with their speed. It’s unlikely that the young dancers have enough training and experience to be standout contenders this season, but they sure are fun to watch.

THE RISE

In dance, the quarterback is the most consistent dancer with the best energy. This point became a reoccurring piece of advice given by the judges during the episode and was echoed several times by all three judges when discussing The Rise. The judges felt like the group still needed to go bigger with their tricks, but considering how much they’ve already improved from the Qualifiers, it’s safe to say that some major moments will be delivered by this crew in the Duels.
