An ER doctor who fled his native Syria to start a new life in Canada—in the emergency room. That's the story behind the brand new medical drama,  Transplant (premieres February 26th at 9 p.m ET on CTV).The show stars Hamza Haq, who plays Dr. Bashir 'Bash' Hamed, the Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine who makes the tough decision to flee his country with his younger sister. The siblings struggle with their new life in Canada as Bash attempts to rebuild his career in medicine. Transplant also stars John Hannah, who plays Dr. Jed Bishop.Transplant is being praised for its diverse cast, and we caught up with Hamza and John to talk about just that, including other tidbits like how they trained for their medical roles and being squeamish on set.
