When we first saw The Eagle costume on The Masked Singer (Wednesdays, 8 p.m. ET, CTV), we were feeling some serious rocker vibes. Initially it seemed like someone old-school, like Willie Nelson or perhaps even Bret Michaels, was underneath. But then we got more clues: this dude was some sort of a radio personality, he made a living off of listening to other rockers and celebrities, he recently had a health scare and he lost a parent. Our best guess based on all of that? Howard Stern.Robin Thicke thought so too, especially after Eagle’s funny performance of "I’d Do Anything For Love," but Jenny McCarthy was getting comedic vibes and went with Adam Corolla. Jeff Foxworthy and Craig Ferguson were also thrown out there over the course of the night.
So who was under the mask? It was none other than Dr. Drew Pinsky, and we were shook. We binged a ridiculous number of Celebrity Rehab episodes back in the day, but we had no idea this guy could perform like that. And sure, Pinsky hosted the radio show Loveline (Ken Jeong even filled in for him a few times), but we certainly didn’t remember that fact in the moment. The gig isn’t exactly what comes to mind when we think of Dr. Drew. We had no idea he was so funny, so if anything doing this show has made us look at the good doc in a whole new light.Pinsky’s unveiling brought us to the end of the first round of performers, which meant we get to see some of our favourites take to the stage again in the coming weeks. For now, here’s what we know about Wednesday night’s last batch of masked celebs.

The Flower

Creepy costume or not, this woman can sing. Her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” was absolutely amazing and full of range, and we have a feeling that a seasoned performer is under that mask. Based on the clue package, which hinted that she’s climbed to the top of her field in everything from cooking, to fashion, to crafting, we have to agree with Nicole Scherzinger that it’s Patti LaBelle. The judges' best guesses: Jennifer Hudson, Bjork, Jessie J.The internet’s best guesse: Fans still seem caught up on the Mayim Bialik theory, but we’re not so sure she can sing like that.

The Penguin

Short, cute and full of sass, The Penguin has us completely baffled. We immediately thought of someone like Snooki from Jersey Shore, but the clue package didn’t really add up. It mentioned this person being told she isn’t pretty enough, talented enough, and that her career is over, and then it flashed a protest sign saying "I’m not your secretary."The judges’ best guesses: Whoever she is, she’s not a professional singer, as her performance of "The Middle" indicated. But as she proved in The Smackdown against The Eagle, she’s also pretty funny and physical, so the judges are thinking along the lines of Kathy Griffin or Sherri Shepherd. The internet’s best guesses: People were all over the place trying to figure this one out Wednesday night, but the guess we saw that piqued our interest was Tonya Harding.

The Fox

We’re in love with The Fox’s costume, but we are seriously scratching our heads trying to figure out who he is. At this point we know he has connections to the superhero world and that he’s done his "best work at night." He may also be a dad, since his clue package consisted of reading a story to a little fox. Whoever he is, his jaw-dropping performance of “This Love” proved that he’s one of this season’s strongest singers. The judges’ best guesses: The potential celebs were all over, from Wesley Snipes and Jamie Foxx to Tyrese Gibson, Leslie Odom Jr. and Anthony Mackie. Essentially, the judges are stumped. The internet’s best guesses: Initially fans seemed convinced Fox was Jeremy Renner, but now guesses like Wayne Brady and Hugh Jackman have also surfaced.Hopefully we’ll all have some better guesses when we hear Fox, along with the 11 other remaining celebrities, perform again. The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.
