That ladybug hid her spots.

Audiences have been scratching their heads over the secret celebrity identities on The Masked Singer (Wednesdays, 8 p.m. ET, CTV) since it debuted but we’ve got to say that this week’s episode was particularly baffling. Thankfully we weren’t the only ones who thought so.When The Ladybug, Fox, Flower, Tree and Rottweiler took the stage the judges—along with guest judge Triumph the Insult Comic Dog—seemed to be just as confused as we were. We say this with love, but their guesses were all over the place.

“Castle on the Hill”

Once again Rottweiler was the pup of the night (sorry Triumph) with his rendition of Ed Sheeran’s ditty, and Nicole Scherzinger even admitted that “he has the best voice.” At this point we’re convinced the pooch is a boy band member, but our guesses are fluctuating from Backstreet Boys to 98 degrees, to New Kids on the Block and back again.Thankfully we were able to sniff out a few new clues, including the fact that a) that dog can draw and b) he once played a cop on television. Considering how many cop dramas there are on TV and that guest star stints would count, that really doesn’t help us out much.

Foxy flowers and more

Rottweiler may have been the top singer of the night, but he had some serious competition. We’re getting into all of the best performances now that so many celebrities have been unmasked, and it’s hard to see anyone go home. Fox in particular wowed us with his rendition of Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step.” He too may be a boy band member, but his clue of being part of a pack could have also been another nod to the Internet’s top guess of Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye in The Avengers franchise. Then there’s Flower and Tree. Both of these women know how to work a stage, and we’re dying to know their real identities. We’re still convinced Flower is Patti LaBelle, but she could still sprout up to be anyone at this point. And Tree? Heck if we know. Her secret connection to soup at the end just threw us even more.

Taking flight

And then there was Ladybug. Her performance of 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Youngblood” was captivating to be sure, but the competition was just too strong. Someone had to go and unfortunately the audience votes meant it was her. That didn’t make the judges any closer to guessing her real identity, of course. While Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke remained convinced it was Lindsay Lohan (which, let’s be real, Ladybug hated), Nicole went with Jamie Lynn Spears and Jenny McCarthy went all-in on Paris Jackson. So we were all shocked when Kelly Osborne revealed herself, and the judges nearly dropped out of their seats. Even Robin, who is usually the best at guessing, admitted he never would have picked her. As for host Nick Cannon, who usually has some sort of inkling? Even he was “speechless.”To be fair, Osborne did throw us with that fake southern accent the entire time, but holy heck. To say her reveal was a game-changer would be an understatement—at this point anyone could be under those masks. And we can’t wait to see who is unveiled next. The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.[video_embed id='1501883']RELATED: Ken Jeong showed us his infamous dance moves and it was the best[/video_embed]
