Regardless, it was a sly move that paid off for Riley & Maddison for now, because their slow-and-steady approach landed them a first-place finish (not to mention a seven-day Caribbean cruise). That’s probably enough of a prize to also not feel too bad about their participating in the ousting of the last remaining, non-Mine Five alliance team, Kaylynn & Haley.[video_embed id='2084795']MORE TV NEWS: The Cast of ‘Veep’ to reunite for a political fundraiser [/video_embed]When there’s an alliance but not really an alliance but sort of an alliance… pic.twitter.com/LVmHceCp04

As if that bad luck wasn’t enough to push them down, Kaylynn & Haley also became the target of the Mine Five’s external mean girls antics. Will & James quickly declared they were going to use their Yield against the sisters when the time came, and yield them they did. Before they could enter the virtual reality Roadblock they had to wait out a 20 minute penalty, which put them even more behind. Were they bummed? Of course. Did they lose their positive attitude, fight, cry, or react in any of the number of ways that probably any other team would? Not in the slightest. They sat down and chatted, because at that point what were they really supposed to do about it anyhow?Fast forward to the night’s second Yield opportunity, which the Bearded Bros took full advantage of by stopping the sisters again. Even though they were well behind everyone else at that point, all hope of actually catching up was officially killed with that yield. Sure enough Hung & Chee and Eswar & Aparna stepped onto the mat just as the sisters were waiting out the last few minutes of their penalty. And this time, when the blondes finally did arrived at the mat, Phil Keoghan had to eliminate them.Did they cry? Were they angry? Did they blast the other teams for their behaviour? Not really. The closest they came was when Phil asked them how they felt about being targeted. “They have a name?” they said of the Mine Five before laughing again. Obviously they were bummed to have been eliminated, but their positive attitudes and ability to stay cool no matter what the situation—every single time—has been pretty admirable. They’ll for sure be missed, but now the real fun will be in seeing how this alliance comes apart at the seams as they turn on one another. Because now it’s do or die, and there are no more external teams to target.Watch it all unfold next week, as the teams head to Cambodia.
