Tatiana Maslany will chair an ‘Orphan Black’ virtual table read for charity

Orphan Black was a huge hit from 2013-2017 and the filmed-in-Toronto dark TV series about clones featuring an all-Canadian cast is coming back. Ish. Now that we find ourselves in strange and uncertain times (not unlike the plot of an OB episode), the show’s cast will stage a virtual table read of two iconic episodes from the first season on May 17 and reprising their clone roles will be Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana Maslany, and, uh . . .  *checks notes* . . .  Tatiana Maslany.According to the show’s official Facebook page, the Canadian Emmy-award winning actress will be playing several of her clone characters, including fan-faves Sarah, Helena and Cosima but of course, the rest of the all-Canuck cast, including Kristian Bruun (Donnie), Kevin Blanchard, (Detective Art Bell), Dylan Bruce (Paul), and Jordan Gavaris (Felix) will join her in the virtual table read.

According to People, Tatiana explained the impetus behind the reunion: “Kristian Bruun and I started talking about the idea of doing an OB reunion back when everything had shut down. We wanted to show love to Clone Club and help raise some money for people who are disproportionately affected during this difficult time."With that in mind, the two-episode virtual table read will offer viewers the chance to donate funds to two organizations, Sistering (which is a Toronto drop-in centre for women), and CenterLink, with donations benefiting Mental Health Awareness Month, and the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.Beyond raising funds for good causes, the Orphan Black cast wanted to do something to bring people together. “We hope that we can bring some joy to the fans, something intimate just for them—make them feel connected to the Clone Club community even if we're all far apart." People reported.
