The horse clearly didn't get the memo on physical distancing

This weekend was supposed to be the American Country Music Awards live at the Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville, but things being what they are these days, the massive bash had to be postponed until September. Instead of leaving country fans hanging for a few more months, the powers that be opted for a two-hour TV special called ACM Awards Presents Our Country, featuring a gaggle of your favourite country stars performing direct from their homes in quarantine. Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, and even Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani serenaded us from the distance and isolation of their homes, but our favourite moment (and now yours as well) was when Shania Twain popped up from her stable to sing an acoustic version of her smash '90s hits, "Honey, I'm Home" and "Man, I Feel Like A Woman"... to her horse. You read that right. Shania's horse clearly hasn’t gotten the memo on physical distancing, because that pony was all up in her grill.
Wearing a big brown Stetson, a red cloak and stylish ripped denim jeans, Canada's Country Queen strummed her acoustic guitar sitting atop a hay bale and sang, “Honey, I'm home and I had a hard day,” with her signature Timmins, Ontario twang as her white stallion stood literally centimetres from her fret and strings. If you can come up with a better stay-at-home anthem than "Honey, I'm Home" with lines like, "Rub my feet; gimme something to eat. Fix me up my favourite treat," we'd love to hear it.It looks like Shaina's pretty pony might have been more into her second tune though—her acoustic rendition of "Man, I Feel Like a Woman," and honestly, who could blame her? She (we're assuming it's a "she," but it's unclear) was totally feeling it, and by the end of the first chorus, she opened her mouth for a big grin and a wag of her tongue, even licking the strings of Shania's guitar at one point. That’s horsey-code for “Lemme sing too!”[video_embed id='6145773705001']RELATED: Watch Mariah Carey slay ‘Always Be My Baby’ at the iHeart Living Room Concert[/video_embed]Other featured country music stars from the night included Carrie Underwood singing "Drinking Alone" (add that to the at-home playlist, too), Miranda Lambert strumming to "Bluebird" beneath the most country antler chandelier we've ever seen and Keith Urban killing "Wasted Time" from his home studio. We like to think Nicole Kidman was standing just behind the camera bopping along.Stars performing from their homes has really become the new normal these days, what with rejigged shows like the iHeart Living Room Concert, celebrity live streams and every late night TV talk show from Fallon to Colbert taking their shows to the homestead. As a result, viewers have had an unprecedented look inside celebrities homes that we probably never would have seen otherwise. It’s nice to see our favourite stars relaxed, dressed down, and behaving just like the rest of us. Those of us with horses, anyway.[video_embed id='1932827']BEFORE YOU GO: Jimmy Fallon’s interview with Lady Gaga did not go well[/video_embed]
