Queer Eye’s Fab Five head to Japan to change lives, make us cry

If you thought you'd seen everything from Queer Eye and cried all the tears, just wait until you see them take things international. That's right, the Fab Five are heading to Japan for a special four-episode season and you're going to need to stock up on tissues, hunny.Netflix released the first look at Queer Eye: We're in Japan! and it's even more glorious than we'd dared dream. It opens with Tan France enthusiastically asking Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown and Bobby Berk, "Are you guys ready?"—in Japanese—and just like that, they're off on a new adventure.The boys meet up with Kiko Mizuhara, a model and actress who serves as their Tokyo guide, and also connect with special guest Naomi Watanabe, a comedian whose imitation of a certain superstar earned her the nickname "the Japanese Beyoncé."We get a glimpse at the four heroes who are the reason the Fab Five have made the trek and, as per usual, they all have personal stories of struggle and strife that are in need of attention: Makoto wants to reconnect with his wife and go "from a rock to a psychedelic flower." A fair goal considering who'll be working with him; hospice nurse Yoko gave up every room in her home for a patient and now it's her turn to get "back in touch" with herself; Kan needs the boys' help as he grapples with the idea of bringing his boyfriend home to meet his family.And, finally, artist Kae reveals that she has been bullied all her life but—spoiler alert!—post-makeover, she tells the guys how "grateful" she is that she can "finally be proud" of herself. The trailer warns viewers to "try not to cry" but we're happy to let the tears freely stream down our cheeks. From dancing in Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing to Antoni slow-dancing in a tiny kitchen with Yoko, you know it's going to be an epic season. And if Bobby, Tan, Karamo, Antoni and Jonathan can perform jaw-dropping makeovers, excuse us, make-betters on men and women in Atlanta and Kansas City, Tokyo doesn't stand a chance.
