Staying in while staying sane is no easy task no matter what's going on in the world. Yes, 2020 has been a stressful year, so it's no wonder people are fleeing back to tried and true dramas and comedies. This is a no-judgement zone so we've rounded up some of the most fun, most compelling, most feel-good television series to ever hit the small screen. From Community to Schitt's Creek to Game of Thrones (hey, good TV is good TV) check out our recommendations below.

Damages (5 seasons)

Glenn Close, Rose Byrne, Ted DansonThis over-the-top (in the best way) legal thriller sees Byrne’s fresh-out-of-law-school keener go from pawn to opposing queen in a game of psychological chess against a most intimidating opponent (Close). Damages will make ‘just one more episode’ your new mantra.Where to watch: CTV Throwback

Veronica Mars (4 seasons)

Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring (plus cameos by everyone from Jessica Chastain to Paul Rudd)It’s crazy just how many people in Veronica Mars’ target audience missed the series when it originally aired. Like My So-Called Life, the show was an under-the-radar obsession for a certain set of teens. Thing is, it’s so smartly written that adults will love it, too.Where to watch: Crave

Community (6 seasons)

Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, Joel McHale, Chevy ChaseDespite the chemistry this incredible ensemble cast had, it’s hard for us to think about it in any way other than ‘the show that gave us Donald Glover.’ We stan’d Abed and Troy’s best-friendship before we even knew what stan-ing was.Where to watch: CTV Throwback

Twin Peaks (2 seasons plus a movie and a reboot)

Kyle MacLachlan, Madchen Amick, Michael OntkeanThis April, Twin Peaks will turn 30 years old and yet we’re still trying to solve the rash of creepy mysteries that David Lynch threw at us in only two seasons. For example, how can a person survive solely on coffee and cherry pie?Where to watch: Crave

Dawson’s Creek (6 seasons)

Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, James VanderbeekWhile Paula Cole singing “I don’t wanna wait/For our lives to be over” at the start of each episode might feel a little too real right now, it’s nice to be transported back to a time when our biggest problem was whether or not Grams would let us leave the house on a school night.Where to watch: CTV ThrowbackSchitt's Creek still

Schitt's Creek

Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy, Annie MurphyAs if you needed an excuse to re-watch Schitt's Creek (and if you haven't seen it already, we really don't understand what you're waiting for). It's the wholesome little Canadian show that could, winning nine Emmys for it's final season and warming the hearts of Canadians and international audiences alike.Where to watch: CBC Gem

The Sopranos (6 seasons)

James Gandolfini, Lorraine Braco, Edie Falco, Michael ImperioliWarning: this show will have you craving baked ziti and gabagool (whatever that is) like no other series ever broadcast. Stock up on these essential Italian ingredients and settle into the sofa for a ride through New Jersey’s fascinating, fictional criminal underworld.Where to watch: Crave

I Dream of Jeannie (6 seasons)

Barbara Eden, Larry HagmanLeave reality behind by immersing yourself in a pink-hued sitcom about an odd couple love story featuring a genie and an astronaut. It doesn’t get more escapist (or more charming) than this. Magic carpet rides included.Where to watch: CTV Throwback

Orphan Black (5 seasons)

Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kristian BruunFrom the very first episode, Orphan Black gets its hooks into viewers. Tatiana Maslany’s acting acrobatics are reason enough to tune into this Canadian/British co-production, but the real fun comes from trying to disentangle the show’s multiple mysteries and intertwining storylines. It could keep you up at night, but who’s sleeping right now anyway?Where to watch: CTV Throwback

30 Rock (7 seasons)

Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBreyerEven if you’ve seen it from start to finish, the dialogue on 30 Rock is packed so tightly with jokes that it takes many repeat viewings just to catch them all.Where to watch: Crave

Who’s The Boss? (8 seasons)

Tony Danza, Alyssa Milano, Judith Light, Danny Pintauro, Katherine HelmondPile the kids on the couch and show them what TV was like in ancient times (aka the ‘80s) when the jokes were wholesome as apple pie (with the exception of the occasional winky one-liner from Helmond’s sexy grandmother character).Where to watch: CTV Throwback

Seinfeld (9 seasons)

Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander, Michael RichardsGet lost in a microcosmic version of New York City populated by four hilariously narcissistic adults plagued by problems like a bedroom-adjacent overly bright neon restaurant sign or a new suede jacket with unfortunate candy striped lining. Small inconveniences are played for very big laughs.Where to watch: Crave

Game of Thrones (8 seasons)

Sophie Turner, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke, Lena HeadyIs it too soon to rewatch Game of Thrones? Heck no. Reminder: the first season aired way back in 2011—and got right to the business of killing off more characters than we can name. Let’s give young Joffrey another chance, shall we?Where to watch: Crave (seasons 1-6 available with Crave subscription, 7-8 with Movies + HBO)

Girls (6 seasons)

Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Adam DriverGirls was such an incredible (if slightly flawed) experiment in what a show dreamed up, written, and acted primarily by young women could be. We love it for its unflinching honesty (read: nudity), its raw, relatable humour, and for the jumping-off point it created for the female-led shows that came after.Where to watch: Crave

Big Love (5 seasons)

Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer GoodwinBill Paxton plays your average suburbanite husband blissfully living out his American dream: a nice house, lots of kids, a swimming pool, and... three wives. And you thought your quarantine was crowded.Where to watch: Crave

The Wire (5 seasons)

Dominic West, Idris Elba, Lance Reddick, Sonja SohnHBO’s brilliant crime series shines a light on the dynamic between Baltimore’s police force, the justice system, the crime world, and the people who get caught up in all of the above. It’s an intelligent look at the drama inherent in life in a big American city and it’s one of the most watchable shows we can think of.Where to watch: Crave[video_embed id='1926896']RELATED: Here's what you should be binge-watching while you're stuck at home[/video_embed]
