The Blind Auditions are typically the most surprising round of The Voice (Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV2) and that was definitely the case on Tuesday night. Whether it was singers who didn’t match their voices or coaches getting blocked on artists who performed their songs, all bets were off on Tuesday’s episode.Coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend, Nick Jonas and Kelly Clarkson all got the chance to shoot their shots with new singers, but a block by Nick robbed Kelly of the chance to fight for Arei Moon, who performed Clarkson’s 2003 hit “Miss Independent.” Way harsh, Nick. And also really smart.[video_embed id='1907610']RELATED: What to expect when Nick Jonas joins the 'The Voice' family[/video_embed]

TONEISHA HARRIS

Viewers of The Voice learn about the performer before the coaches even see them. Backstories can get the audience on the performer’s side before they even hit their first note and Toneisha Harris’ story of putting off her audition for The Voice for eight years to care for her son after he was diagnosed with leukemia had every viewer at home slamming their imaginary red button. With her son now healthy, Toneisha finally made her debut on The Voice stage in a big way, earning a four-chair turn with a soaring rendition of Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is.” Breathing new life into the ballad, Nick called Toneisha’s performance one of the best he’s ever heard. Ever. Not just in two nights on The Voice. Kelly called her voice a blessing and John and Blake gave their most emotional pitches of the season. Toneisha landed on Team Blake (srsly?) but like John said, she’ll be in the finale regardless of her coach. Get that seventh win, Blake!

LEVI WATKINS

The best part of the Blind Auditions is hearing incredible singers. The second best part is watching the coaches turn around and be stunned when the person doesn’t match the voice. Blake gave an Oscar-worthy performance on Tuesday night when he caught his first glimpse of 14-year-old Levi Watkins and acted like he expected that big voice to come out of the young singer. Kelly said she had never been so shocked in five seasons of The Voice, but unfortunately didn’t stop there and went on to tell Levi she assumed he was a woman in her 20s. That probably isn’t what the teen wanted to hear. What he did want to hear is that he’s on Team Blake, so we’ll focus on the good.

ZACH DAY

If Levi’s age and gender shocked Kelly, then Zach Day’s race completed the “Where Is That Sound Coming From” trifecta on Tuesday night. “You’re white,” screamed Kelly following Zach’s performance of SWV’s “Weak.” “I would have lost a lot of money.” Same, Kelly, and we could see Zach. He’s got range, and he makes us want to find our old mixtapes. Sisters With Voices? More likes Misters With Voice(s). Kelly and John both turned for the surprising singer but Kelly’s insufficient use of adjectives lost her Zach. Not impressive.

CHELLE

Chelle is the current title holder of Fastest Coach Turn this season, with Blake spinning after a single “La la la la.” FYI, Blake Shelton loves Billie Eilish. The teen singer gave an emotionally gripping performance of “idontwannabeyouanymore” and earned two more chair turns from Nick and Kelly. Nick said that Chelle is an artist he would love to write for in the future. You know, kinda like Kelly Clarkson, although Nick hopes that Chelle won’t reject his songs. Someone on Kelly’s team is currently getting fired. At least she got Chelle on her team.
