Michael Bublé wants Canadians to know that while we're all living through an uncertain and scary time, we're going to make because we're all in this together. Speaking about the upcoming
Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble multi-platform special airing this Sunday, April 26 at 6:30pET/7p NT, Bublé was adamant that though the state of the world is a lot to handle right now, Canadians are a resilient group."Ten years ago, we watched our country come together—all our artists, our athletes—and we put on one of the greatest Olympics anyone had ever seen," he said during a press conference before Sunday's historic show. "We pulled together as a country and we blew the world away. And for me it’s really emotional to see that 10 years later, under much different circumstances, our country is going to show it’s mettle once again.""We’re going to show the world what great Canadian firepower is all about and how resilient, how strong, how much love we have," he continued. "To me, it doesn’t get more emotional than having all these incredibly talented people come together and do it once again—to come together for something completely different and probably a lot more important."[video_embed id='1945786']RELATED: How ‘Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble’ became the largest single show broadcast in Canada’s history[/video_embed]As Bublé said, the
Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble special will bring together Canada's greatest talent for an evening of hope, optimism and, of course, music, all in support of Food Banks Canada and the frontline workers fighting the battle against COVID-19. Canadian heavyweights like Céline Dion, Justin Biber, Shania Twain, Jann Arden, Alessia Cara, Ryan Reynolds, Avril Lavigne
and more are set to join in the epic
record-setting broadcast. Also making an appearance will be Nova Scotia's own Anne Murray, who was just confirmed to take part, and will be sharing her thoughts about her home province's time of healing less than a weel after the tragic shooting. Anne
sent her love and condolences to her community in the aftermath and will surely have some more words of comfort Sunday.Michael, too, has been candid about how emotional he's been feeling during the pandemic. When asked about any advice he could give for families staying at home, he answered honestly."Who am I to give advice?" he began. "I'm here safe with my kids and my wife... I can tell you what we do—we take more time to pray, we try to watch the news less, we try to really just take it one day at a time and that's it... Every single person is scared and uncertain and there is no answer. All we can do is try to love each other."
Prioritize mental health
He added that perhaps the smartest thing people can do right now is to prioritize mental health and check up on loved ones. He was also quick to point out that as hard as it is to self-isolate at home indefinitely, it's the frontline workers who really need our support right now."All we can do is keep perspective that hopefully through [fundraising initiatives] like this, people will have food," Bublé said. "What I'm dealing with is nothing compared to the doctors and nurses who are on the frontlines worries about bringing things home to their own families... Be there for the people who are vulnerable."As serious and unnerving as things are right now, Bublé added some levity by reminding everyone that the star-studded show on Sunday may feature some interesting set-ups because everybody's just trying their best. Showing his own makeshift tripod built out of books and rubber bands, Michael said that while living room concerts can be intimate and fun, they can also be ... well, not as good as a studio session."I think [artists performing from their homes] is very strange, actually," he admitted. "I can't lie—it can be really great and really organic and there's other times when it's not. I don't know what else to say—sometimes it doesn't sound as good or look as good... Sometimes I could use the help of better lighting or some sound engineer to help my pitchy voice. I think it's nice for people—there's a connection."And we can't wait to make that connection on Sunday, April 26. You can catch it live beginning at 6:30pm ET on all national specialty services and the entire special will also be streaming worldwide for free on
