If hockey can figure out a way to make sports happen in a bubble, your fave land-locked reality dating competition series can do the same for ~love~. Season two of Love Island has an official premiere date and it looks like all the swoon-worthy dates, drama-heavy confrontations and envy-inducing bathing suit inspo is coming to us way sooner than we could have dreamed. Ladies and gentleman, your new cast of Islanders looking for love, and a major payday, will be hitting the small screen Monday, August 24 at 8ET on CTV.The new season will run basically like the last one (which you can stream in full on Crave right now) with the couples interacting on an "island" (AKA The Cromwell Hotel) Sunday to Friday on CTV. After the two-hour premiere on August 24, hour-long episodes will air at 9ET until the two-hour finale extravaganza on Wednesday, September 30. While the first season of Love Island, and all seasons of its U.K. and Australian counterparts, were filmed at resorts or "villas" in tropical locations, this season, with COVID-19 travel restrictions in place, the show is moving to Las Vegas. The "island" this time is more of a "bubble" with the yet-unannounced cast quarantining at the boutique Cromwell Hotel on the Vegas Strip. All cast and crew will be quarantined in isolation before shooting begins and tested for COVID-19 prior to entering the bubble. Testing will continue throughout the season with rigorous cleaning practices and enforced PPE usage and social distancing among the off-screen staff. In case you need a refresher on the premise of the hit show: a group of singles descend into the love bubble with one goal in mind: to find the love of their life. These singles will suss each other out through a series of silly games, deep heart-to-hearts and one-on-one dates, all instigated by the receipt of a TEXT. Returning narrator Matthew Hoffman (the STAR of the show, TBH) will document the whole thing with sarcastic and down right savage commentary of the whole thing.[video_embed id='1749360']BEFORE YOU GO: Your ‘Love Island’ winners have been crowned [/video_embed]Arielle Vandenberg will also return as host, popping in from time to time for "recouplings" where the Islanders will have to "couple up" into pairs in order to avoid being booted from the bubble, thus ending their Love Island journey and eliminating all chances of finding love in a beautiful paradise. *cries one delicate tear*Fans, too, have their say on who gets to stay in the bubble and who just isn't in it "fOr tHe rIgHt rEaSOnS." From time to time, viewers will be able to vote people or couples out off via the Love Island app (yes, Canadians too).In a world of isolation, quarantine and travel restrictions, Love Island is truly the reality show of our time. We can't wait.Catch up on all of Love Island season one on Crave.[video_embed id='2007722']BEFORE YOU GO: Meet the new Bachelorette Tayshia Adams [/video_embed
