It’s safe to say that the powers-that-be behind The Masked Singer (Wednesdays 8 p.m. ET, CTV) are all-in on Valentine's Day, because they delivered a love-ly episode filled with V-day puns, actual valentines, and even clues from the contestants’ loved ones. It was a regular old lovefest, right up until the shocking moment when the contestant whose MO was all about love, Miss Monster, was eliminated.

Eye of the Tiger

That’s right, the personality whose clues always featured her “love,” The Monster, received the lowest number of votes despite her obviously legendary voice. The fact that she didn’t move onto the Super 9 was probably more shocking than finding out Drew Carey or Lil Wayne were underneath the masks the past two weeks, because let’s face it: White Tiger cannot sing.“What I love about White Tiger is you just go for any note,” panelist Nicole Scherzinger laughed. In a show that’s all about performances though, maybe that doesn’t matter so much. Tiger brought it personality-wise, just like he has for the past two weeks, and the audience ate it up. The panelists were definitely shocked by the group decision, but apparently the crowd wants to hear more off-key raps from Gronk the mysterious giant and that’s their choice. This is a democratic show, after all. Give the people what they want.

The panelists finally get it right

TBH, what the people really want is to know who’s underneath each costume. Until then, one of the night’s other takeaways is that fans should probably cut the panelists some slack. That was guest-panelist Leah Remini’s assessment of the situation—she said what so many commentators have been thinking and ridiculed the panelists for not properly guessing the performers’ identities. Except, she also conceded that IRL it’s a lot harder than you might think. These people are giving everyone a show after all, and it would be pretty boring if they just spent all their time hanging out on their phones, Googling clues. Google or no Google, the panelists (or more accurately Nicole and Robin Thicke) finally got one right, proving that the third time may be the charm after all. They both successfully guessed that 10-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan was underneath the mask and they weren’t wrong. Apparently host Nick Cannon knew it too, even though the ground-breaking performer was purposely trying to throw her voice to make it harder for everyone to guess her identity.[video_embed id='1501883']RELATED: Ken Jeong showed us his infamous dance moves and it was the best[/video_embed]“I could have gone on forever and ever,” the OG “I’m Every Woman” singer later told Variety. “I was disappointed that it ended so fast.”

Hitting the road

But Chaka may have the opportunity to perform as Miss Monster again in the very near future. In between messages of love and weird fatherly banter with Ken Jeong, Nick Cannon also dropped the bomb that the show is going on tour—kind of like how popular shows American Idol and Dancing With the Stars used to back in the day.No word on whether the celebs from the show will actually perform on the road (it’s not super likely), but the 45-city tour will be a production based on the show, according to the official tour website. Unfortunately for all of the Canadian fans out there are no Northern stops on the docket, but there are several concerts close enough to the borders that a road trip could be a reasonable jaunt for some.Meanwhile, now that White Tiger, Kangaroo and Turtle are advancing to the Super 9, it’s time to meet the contestants competing in Group B next week. Among them are a banana, a frog and a mouse, so really it’s anyone’s guess as to which secret celebs the costumes are housing. As for those panelists? They’re probably super pumped for a wardrobe change already. The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV.[video_embed id='1898586']BEFORE YOU GO: The Backstreet Boys bring back the 'Thong Song'[/video_embed]
