Before social media, and even before the internet was even really a thing, Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee were the first people to go truly "viral" when their private home videos were stolen and then sold without their permission. Pam and Tommy's notoriety grew on the back of their sex tape long before other celebs and starlets made it a Hollywood trend. Now, Hulu has dropped the first trailer for Pam and Tommy, which dramatizes this wild time in celeb culture.

Downton Abbey's Lily James and Captain America's Sebastian Stan have transformed into the titular pop culture figures and the resemblance is uncanny with the actors basically unrecognizable. Just watching this trailer will transport you back to 1995. Our time machine works!

The film also stars Nick Offerm as Milton Ingley, a porn producer who agrees to mass-produce the movie, and Canada's own Seth Rogen (and Seth's mullet haircut… whew, that is definitely a look), and the trailer begins with Seth as Rand, the famous couple's handyman (who stole the tape for revenge), fast-forwarding the VHS tape right to the good stuff, and we the audience realize we're about to watch how this X-rated celeb sex tape would soon be shared with the masses..

"Based on the true f***ing scandal" the title cards read, tongue firmly in cheek, and we follow as the Mötley Crüe drummer and Canadian Baywatch babe watch their private lives blow up in a mega public scandal.

Lenny Kravitz's massive '90s hit "Are You Gonna Go My Way" plays in the background as we watch Pammy and Tommy spar over the release of the video., which is the perfect track for the moment, TBH.

"It's not a big deal to me, I'm on that tape same as you," Tommy says. Sighing, Pamela responds, "No, not like me, you're not," and every woman in the audience silently nods.

The Hulu series dramatizes the whole ordeal to comedic effect, but in real life, Pamela and Tommy won their copyright-infringement suit against Internet Entertainment Group, the company that had sold it online, in 1998. That same year, their marriage dissolved when Tommy went to jail for six months for felony spousal abuse after he attacked Pamela while she was holding their 7-week-old son, Dylan.

Pam and Tommy drops February 3rd, 2022 on Hulu.
