If you thought that this week’s episode of
Keeping Up With The Kardashians was going to involve resolutions between the sisters, you were wrong. If anything, things were more heated than ever as we saw the second half of that blow-out physical fight between Kim and Kourtney. (Did anyone else get excited when a tattooed guy who looked sort of like Rob Kardashian briefly walked across the screen? We’re pretty sure it was actually a crew member but REMEMBER ROB? He was fun.)The show started right where last week left off: in the middle of an epic
KarJenner sibling meltdown. Kim was tearfully screaming at Kourtney, who had just clawed her like a wild animal over some petty remarks involving work ethic. At one point, Khloe started anxiously wiping down the walls where the fight had just happened. Wait, was she cleaning actual blood off the walls? Just how long are Kourtney’s nails?! After some more screaming and a lot of tears, Kourtney relocated to another room with some decidedly uncomfortable crew members as Kim, Khloe and Kendall discussed what the hell had just happened. The consensus: Kourtney was super out of line and the sisters are tired of her always playing the victim. Well, that bodes well for everyone getting along from here out![video_embed id='1931429']RELATED: Kim K hides in Kris Jenner’s glam room to chat with Jimmy Fallon[/video_embed]Kris Jenner was still in Paris at this point, and as it turns out, she was very drunk. “Yabba Dabba Doo!” she wailed into the phone as Kim and Khloe texted her pictures of Kim’s injuries. Remember, Kylie was super sick and about to miss a major work event, and the rest of the sisters were brawling like Real Housewives on vacation. You’d probably be a few glasses in too, if you were their momager. Before the siblings were reunited to talk things out, we saw Kardashian family BFFs Malika and Khadijah play mediator and therapist in (another) tear-filled chat with Kourtney. “They put the show and work above my happiness and it’s caused this distance between us,” Kourtney sobbed to the twins, refusing to address her own role in the drama. Meanwhile, Khloe and Kendall were venting to Scott, criticizing Kourtney for her inability to communicate and work things out. Scott seemed to agree but still defended his ex, earnestly starting a sentence with, “in all the years I’ve been with the girls,” before noting that Kourtney really does want a positive relationship with her family, even when it doesn’t seem that way. It’s clear that Scott, who never officially married Kourtney, is totally married to the greater KarJenner conglomerate.
Over it
Tensions remained but for whatever reason, Kourtney seemed to think that a trip around the world with Kim and the seven children between them would make things better. The pair traveled to Armenia with their offspring in tow, aiming to champion women in business while drawing attention to the Armenian genocide. Jetlagged and miserable, Kourtney wasn’t feeling it. “I feel bad that we brought all the kids all this way,” she lamented to Kim in the back of a town car. Incredulous, Kim encouraged her to get into the spirit of the trip, emphasizing how amazing it was for the children to have this experience. “But the jetlag,” Kourt insisted, going on to complain about all of the people and cameras following them around. “I don’t know why I’m so miserable here.” And then finally, the mic drop moment: “I don’t like being a celebrity.”
Kim but her lip as the car arrived at their destination: an intimate dinner with the Armenian president arranged to discuss the Armenian genocide. How’s that for awkward timing? In Calabasas a few weeks later, the sisters were back under one roof and ready to talk, this time, at Kourtney’s house, with the twin buffers of Malika and Khadijah to prevent further throwdowns. Khloe laid out her perspective, which made Kourtney grow defensive and almost walk away. “You cut me off when I’m sharing my feelings!” Khloe exclaimed in frustration. Kourtney fired back that she didn’t want to sit there and have an unproductive conversation. “It’s not fair that you do whatever you want and people can’t get s*** from you or get a sincere apology from you,” Khloe pushed. “What kind of relationship is that?”When it was clear that no one was on the same page emotionally and the twins were definitely not qualified to mediate this level of family feuding, Kim spoke up. “We should just make a pact to be mindful about how everyone communicates right now and what’s hurtful and what’s shameful and what’s all of the above,” she suggested. “We’re all different and that’s ok.” Sounds good, Kim, but tell that to the sister shooting laser eyes and the sobbing mascara heaps beside you.
She wants a break
When Kourtney finally announced her “break” from the family reality show (she quit? Half-quit? Only appearances at clean beauty conferences now?) it was surprising to absolutely no one, including viewers. “I’ve decided to take a big step back from filming and really just pick and choose what I’ll allow cameras to follow,” Kourtney explained, saying she wanted more privacy and time with her kids. “ I just want to feel fulfilled and happy. Life is too short.”She took to Twitter during the episode to further confirm her commitment to family and her lifestyle brand Poosch. For what that means for future episodes of KUWTK, we'll have to keep watching.
