Grammer has been teasing a revival for two years now. He previously revealed this new iteration wouldn’t take place in Seattle like the OG version, and would instead explore the character during the next phase in his life—potentially in New York.“Whether he’s got six children and a wife in the islands somewhere, he needs to come back to probably resolve things with his son Frederick, which mirrors the show in the first place,” he said in a previous interview. As fans probably remember, Frasier was a spinoff of Cheers. When it debuted in 1993 it shot to the top of the ratings and ran for 11 successful seasons. Jane Leeves, Peri Gilpin and David Hyde Pierce co-starred along with Mahoney. Bebe Neuwirth also made several appearances as Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith. At the end of the series, Frasier left his gig in Seattle for a new job in San Francisco where his potential soulmate Charlotte (Laura Linney) lived.Since then, Grammer—a six-time Emmy winner who is making his Canadian stage debut in Toronto next month—has tried to launch many new TV shows and played a variety of fresh characters, but none of them have been as successful as Frasier Crane. The actor had short, one-season runs with comedies Back to You (alongside Patricia Heaton) and Hank, and dramas Partners (opposite Martin Lawrence), Boss, and last year’s midseason entry Proven Innocent. But nothing has captured fans’ hearts in quite the same way.“It’s ready to go” Grammer revealed late last year. “We just gotta sort of staff it and find somebody that wants to give us money for it.”After all, those eggs aren’t going to scramble themselves.[video_embed id='-1']Before you go: These loud talking Huskies argue just like human siblings would[/video_embed]He was my father.
