Let’s face it—when COVID-19 forced those who can work from home indoors, the first things to go were business casual work attire and perfectly-coiffed hair and makeup. Seriously, who's actually applying lipstick to complete excel spreadsheets or wearing pants on Zoom calls? TV hosts are also working from home across the board, yet it seems some are holding them to a higher standard than the rest of the WFH population.
Live with Kelly and Ryan (weekdays at 9ET on CTV) host Kelly Ripa has been on the receiving end of some comments about her hosting attire as of late, and fam, she was having none of it.“First of all, let me just say, to people commenting about our appearance—how dare you!” she said on the show after Ryan noted that some fans have been commenting they "look shiny" on the show these days. “You’re lucky that we actually put clothes on," she continued. she said. “Certain things don’t matter anymore and my appearance is one of those things that just don’t matter.” She was firm, but lightened the mood a bit by admitting, she wishes she could just do the show in her PJs, "I am this close to just pulling the laptop into the bed, okay!” she laughed. “But I’m not going to do that because I keep telling myself, 'you’re a professional.'"All the office-decorum rules went out the window the stay-at-home orders came in, so if Kelly and Ryan don't care about a little forehead shine and want to work from a pillow fort, that's totally fine.Watch
