The new Islanders have made themselves at home(s) on Love Island (Monday-Sunday, 9pm on CTV) and unpacked their bikinis, board shorts and bronzer. For some, part of making themselves at home means having a deep conversation with the original Islander they’ve had their eye on. For others, that just means sticking their tongue down another Islander’s throat. Everyone vacations differently. The couples are being tempted in their respective Villa and Casa Amor, but no one has strayed further from home than Johnny, who went from being rock solid with Cely to putting their relationship on the rocks. Alexa, please cue up Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” for Cely to play on repeat once Johnny returns to the Villa.

WHY MEN GREAT TIL THEY GOTTA BE GREAT?

We hoped Casa Amor would see Johnny Be Good, but instead, Johnny held out the length of time it took Mercades to walk across the turfed lawn before he told himself that being fair to Cely meant exchanging fluids with Mercades. “Cool,” said no woman ever. Johnny seemed to have some regrets about making out with Mercades on the first day, but decided in for a penny, in for a pound and spent all night making out with her as well. The sound of viewers audibly gasping when Johnny pulled the pair’s sheets over them will only be drowned out by the wail that will come from deep inside Cely’s heart when she sees the footage. The next day, Johnny filled the guys in on his night of talking, cuddling and making out with Mercades. His defense? Mercades is very aggressive. “Your girl is definitely pushing the paper but you’re signing every cheque,” said a surprisingly wise Carrington. We don’t know what is happening at Casa Amor.
One person who does know what’s going to happen when everyone leaves Casa Amor is Caleb, who was straight with Johnny. “I think Cely loves you,” he told him. Thank you, Caleb. Cut to Cely at the Villa. “If he came back with a new girl, I would be devastated,” said Cely. Let the prayer circle for our woman commence.

MACKENZIE GELLING WITH JALEN

While Connor continues to suffer through the exhaustion of defending his relationship with Mackenzie to anyone willing to listen, Mackenzie has decided that she’s keeping her options open and that means pursuing Jalen. Although Jalen came into the Villa with his sights set on Moira, Mackenzie clearly stated that she was into Jalen and may have found a guy that is better suited for her than Connor. Admittedly, any recoupling would be better for both parties, but we’re trying to keep things positive. As in, we are positive an entire episode is going to be devoted to Mackenzie deciding between Jalen and Connor. THINGS WE STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THE ISLANDERS SAID

  • “I don’t think there’s any harm done there.” Johnny after spending two days making out with Mercades.
  • “I have freckles literally everywhere.” Faith telling Calvin about their R-rated mutual need for SPF 50.
  • “For the first time, I actually felt like I was holding back and I haven’t felt that very much.” Caleb revealing his feelings for Shar while also acknowledging that Justine is wife-material.
  • “Do y’all really think Connor is gonna put his back into a passionate kiss?” Mackenzie on why she won a point for the Villa over Connor’s Casa Amor kiss.
  • “Everyone is surprised that I speak a different language at home.” Justine revealing more about herself to Aaron in three minutes than she’s told Jeremiah, Tre or Caleb in three weeks.
  • “Everyone is holding back.” Mercades, talking about literally everyone, who in comparison to Mercades are admittedly holding back.
