It’s a difficult time for artists to create, especially since so many of us are consuming their work and in desperate need of more when the means to put together new material isn't exactly readily available. John Legend has been working on a new album and admitted to Jimmy Fallon, during another installment of his makeshift at-home Tonight Show, that he's having some trouble creating it with his dispersed team. It's doubly unfortunate because apparently the album is perfect soundtrack for creating something else: coronababies.“The new album is coming, we're mixing it,” John explained via video-chat from his sleek living room straight out of Star Trek. “We're getting our strings finished. I'm not sure how we're going to execute the string recording, because I don't know how we can distance our way into an orchestral recording. Maybe we'll have to do a few players at a time and then overdub it. We'll figure it out.”Two things: 1) strings = sexy, and 2) that would be completely cool and not totally impossible.
“I didn't write [the album] during this period,” Legend said, referring to the spread of COVID-19. “So, it won't be really reflective of what's happening right at this moment. But it's actually probably my sexiest album to date, which could work if you're stuck at home and want to make some coronababies.”*insert meme GIF of Chrissy Teigen wincing*Cabin fever is definitely a thing, and there are several theories surmising that our quarantine will lead to a baby boom in nine months, so if you and your partner want to knock boots, John Legend wants to be considered as your mood-instigator.“If you've spent a lot of time with your partner, and you need a soundtrack for that, well, this album, this could be it.” Cute, John. (Please just make sure it's with someone within your household because otherwise you're not physical distancing and John Legend would not approve).[video_embed id='1927603']RELATED: Ryan Reynolds, Seth Rogen join PM Trudeau’s efforts to flatten the curve[/video_embed]
