Being famous isn’t all that great, you know. Yes, celebs have fans, fame, the fortune but when they fall on their faces, it’s probably been captured by someone and it will likely live on the internet forever. Case in point: during Jameela Jamil’s time as a presenter on the U.K.’s
T4 show, she once fell over in an epic fashion. Okay, sounds like a regular day to us, but seeing as how she was interviewing pop star Olly Murs at the time, it was all on camera. And the damage was something else.As she sat down Thursday night for
A Little Late with Lilly Singh, she gave Lilly some sage advice about hosting (“Try not to fart next to your guest,” to which Lilly quipped, “That ship has sailed”) before launching into the most bonkers event of her hosting career.“I have once fallen over during a play fight with a pop star, and I've flown in the air and decided to break my fall with my face.”
Amid all the audience groans and
ooooohs, she continued, “I lost my front tooth, broke my elbow, got a concussion, and my skirt flew over my head. And the company, the live TV show, used their advertising logo to cover my bum as I flew across the screen, and I had to keep going.”Wait she kept going? Some of us could whine about a paper cut for a full 24 hours, but she
kept hosting?“So, I got into an ambulance and used eyelash glue to stick my tooth back in,” she exclaimed to a shocked audience before pointing to her front gnasher and saying, “This is a fake tooth.”[video_embed id='1913179']RELATED: Oprah shares an update after her onstage tumble[/video_embed]Now, before you start questioning her sincerity, Jameela had the foresight to bring the video receipts. Recently, the former
The Good Place star has had to defend herself against trolls trying to poke holes in her announcements of cancer scares and car accidents.
She’s been accused of having Munchausen syndrome (a mental illness where people act as if they’re suffering from various maladies when, in fact, they’re healthy) and even her recent announcement on her sexual identity and orientation has been
subject to immense scrutiny for its timing. So lest another skeptic give her a hard time over this, behold Exhibit A: the video evidence.“I don't want to have you explain it anymore,” Lilly said. “We actually have a clip. Let's take a look right here”Oh yeah, there’s her breaking her face and her bum behind censored by a logo. “I also broke my nose!” she added.“I felt that in my uterus,” Lilly cringed. “Like it hurt—physically hurt to watch that.” SAME. We love how all throughout that exchange, Jameela and Lilly were laughing and commiserating like old high school buddies. Jameela and Lilly are literally the perfect duo and should have their own show together where they just fall over while hosting and rate each other’s tumbles. That’s a good live TV show idea, right?[video_embed id='1916068']BEFORE YOU GO: How Katy Perry announced she’s pregnant[/video_embed]
