If you’re feeling like a comedy…

Curb Your Enthusiasm

If you still watch Seinfeld repeats and you’re a fan of observational humour and improv, you should definitely fire up Curb. Larry David plays a heightened version of himself (warts and all), and he’s worth watching simply to see what he says or does next. Add in some great scenes with the likes of Jeff Garlin, J.B. Smoove, Ted Danson and Cheryl Hines, and it won’t take long to get hooked. The 10th season recently wrapped on HBO, and all episodes are available to stream now on Crave.

High Fidelity

The feminist reimaging of Nick Hornby’s popular book explores love and romance through the backdrop of music, with none other than Big Little Lies star Zoë Kravitz taking over the role made famous by John Cusack in the big-screen version. If you love music, rom-coms, and Kravitz herself, get in on what many critics have deemed to be one of the greatest remakes in recent memory. All 10 episodes are available now.

Vida

This latinx-positive series has it all: sisterhood, steamy sex scenes, the fight against gentrification and some pretty memorable characters. At its core, this is the story of two sisters who are grieving the loss of their mother while trying to find their place in the world, but there are lots of great themes of identity and love to dig into too. Catch up on the first two seasons now ahead of the third and final installment, which drops April 26.[video_embed id='1694305']RELATED: ‘Latinx drama ‘Vida' is the new coming of age story we needed[/video_embed]

Kidding

There’s Ace Ventura Jim Carrey, and then there’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Jim Carrey. This dark comedy 100 per cent falls into the latter category. As the beloved children’s figure Mr. Pickles (think Mr. Dressup or Mr. Rogers), Carrey deals with the loss of his own child while trying to remain connected to the hordes of kids who depend on him. Add in some Judy Greer, Catherine Keener, and a bunch of fantastic puppets, and this is one of those “comedies” that finds laughs in the really tough situations. Catch up on the first two seasons now.

Shrill

If you’ve ever wanted more of Aidy Bryant on Saturday Night Live, this is your chance to indulge. In this adaptation of Lindy West’s fat-positive novel of the same name, Bryant plays the leading lady, a writer named Annie. At its core this is a series about a fat woman learning that it’s okay for her to take up space in the world, but there’s plenty of bad romance, awkward parental situations and weird workplace laughs in between. The first two seasons are available now.

Letterkenny

Jared Keeso and Jacob Tierney are Canadian treasures. There’s no other way to describe the duo that made hicks, skids, and hockey players such a hilarious part of the Canuck vernacular. This series is a mood, kind of like another famous Canadian escapist comedy, The Trailer Park Boys. Once you get into it, the inside jokes will start to feel like your own, and you’ll probably never look at small-town-living the same way again. You can catch all eight seasons of this gem on Crave.

After Life

Most people are used to seeing Ricky Gervais skew celebrities at awards shows, but the British comedian actually has a pretty great track record of stellar TV shows. Anyone who has ever seen the original The Office, Extras, Life’s Too Short or Derek will probably agree. In this series Gervais is at his softest and most relatable version yet, playing a man trying to get over the untimely death of his wife, a.k.a. the love of his life. If dry humour and sarcasm are on-brand for you, catch up on the first season of this grief-exploring series now before season two hits Netflix on April 24.

Delve into a new drama…

The Outsider

Anyone who has ever read a Stephen King novel is well aware that things are never quite what they seem in his stories. So prepare yourself for more of that in this HBO drama based on King’s book of the same name. As officials attempt to solve the gruesome murder of a young boy, supernatural occurrences have them questioning everything they ever thought they believed. Cynthia Erivo and Jason Bateman star. Watch the limited series in full now.

Westworld

This is amusement park living like you’ve never seen it before. The futuristic series follows the robots and patrons of an A.I. park in which people can live out their wildest (and often darkest) fantasies. With no consequences and a world of dark issues to explore, the series dredges up some pretty cool topics of conversation. Of course it doesn’t hurt that the likes of Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton and Ed Harris are lending their insane talents. Catch up on the first two seasons and keep watching all the way through to the currently airing season three, which features the addition of Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.

Killing Eve

There is everything to love about this creepy but slightly comical show brought to us by the mind of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. You’ve probably seen stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer representing on award show red carpets (Comer took home the Emmy in 2019), but what you don’t know is just how addictive this series can be. It’s been described as the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse; come for the star power and stay for the costumes and exploration of wonky female relationships. Stream the first two seasons now so that you can catch up before the April 12 return to CTV Drama Channel.

My Brilliant Friend

There’s so much to dig into on this TV series, based on the Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante. The overarching story follows two lifelong friends as they grow up in 1950s Naples, where they deal with sexism, various forms of abuse and violence, and a narrow-minded status quo. As each girl grows she follows her own path to “freedom,” which raises all kinds of interesting storylines and potential conversations along the way. The first season is available to stream in full now, and new second-season episodes drop weekly on Crave.

Succession

This dark drama borders on comedy simply for the fact that all of the leads are unlikeable as heck. Yet somehow, watching this rich fictional family (fashioned after the Murdoch crew) is stupidly addictive. There’s really no other way to describe a global-media family that’s rich, powerful, and utterly dysfunctional. Now that you’ve seen the memes and heard everyone talking about it on social media, you might as well join the party too. Catch the first two seasons in full on Crave.

Billions

If you thought this series was just about trading, hedge funds, and Wall Street then you’ve really been missing out. Like many great dramas this is a story of power—how to get it, how to use it, and how to keep it. There are no better small-screen foes than Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, and when they share a scene together you sometimes have to remember to breathe. Add in some equally stellar performances by Maggie Siff, David Costabile and Asia Kate Dillon, and don’t be surprised if you whip through the first four seasons in a week. If you do, at least you’ll be prepared for the fifth-season return on May 3.

The Good Fight

Like its predecessor, The Good Wife, this drama starring Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie and Delroy Lindo is full of dramatic, ripped-from-the-headlines stories, unforeseen twists, and scenes that actually make the law interesting. In its first three seasons the show tackled a variety of topics, from Donald Trump and lawyer-hating murderers to reality TV drinking and everything in between. Catch up now on Stack TV before the fourth-season premiere on April 20.

Ozark

If you’ve been craving some kind of a Breaking Bad replacement ever since that series went dark in 2013, this cartel series starring Jason Batemen will tickle your fancy. As always Batemen plays the best Every Man around, but this time he goes dark when he and his wife (played by Laura Linney), get dragged into the money laundering business in the crime-heavy Ozarks. The third season is streaming now on Netflix.

Because sometimes life is more entertaining than fiction…

RuPaul’s Drag Race

Because the world needs more happy tears, laughter, and fierce smiles, why not let RuPaul entertain you for a little while? Canada waited a long time to finally watch this competitive drag queen reality series, and now fans can finally indulge in all past 11 seasons, as well as the current 12th installment. It’s the perfect escape and primer for when queens of the north unite on Drag Race Canada, which is expected to air sometime in the near future.

McMillion$

If you’ve ever played the McDonald’s Monopoly game and hoped that somehow those Park Place and Baltic Avenue tabs would translate into big prizes and bucks, then you should definitely check out this documentary brought to us by Mark Wahlberg. The six-episode offering looks at how an ex-cop managed to rig the game for an entire decade, stealing millions in the process. It’s pretty fascinating stuff.

Healthy is Hot

People seem to be looking for a little extra boost these days, and there’s no one better to help put a healthy boost into perspective than former Much VJ and etalk host Chloe Wilde. In each episode of this series Wilde guides viewers through everything from “Plant Power” and “Giving Back” to “Facing Your Fears” and creating “A Happy Headspace.” These six episodes are the spark of joy many people could use right about now.[video_embed id='1873548']RELATED: ‘Healthy is Hot’ tackles new ways of self-development[/video_embed]

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness

There’s a reason everyone is talking about this ridiculous story—it’s too wild to be true, yet here we are. It’s got deadly cats, a gay polygamist lead, and a murderous plot. Who knew that the zoo life was so complicated? Joe Exotic may very well be this fall’s hottest Halloween costume, so now’s the time to catch up on the Netflix doc and see what all the roaring is about for yourself.[video_embed id='1930894']BEFORE YOU GO: What We're Watching: Best shows ever[/video_embed]
