If there's one thing we love, it's picking the winners at awards shows. That way, when our faves win (or lose), we can feel the pride (or debilitating disappointment) that comes from having had a microscopic impact on the award results. In that spirit, it's almost time for the 2021 E! People's Choice Awards (airing on E!, Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. ET).

This year, the fan-chosen fete will be hosted by Kenan Thompson, who is also nominated for two of his own awards in addition to two with the cast of Saturday Night Live. The evening of December 7 will kick off with a red carpet special at 8 p.m. ET followed by the show broadcast itself, live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica at 9 p.m. ET.

Ahead of the big night, we've put together everything you need to know about what's happening at the show and where to watch it all go down.

What are the People's Choice Awards all about?

The People's Choice Awards are all about fans choosing the best of the best across film, TV, music and pop culture in 40 fan-voted categories. That means nominees range from movie stars to pop stars to social media stars and are broken down into hyper-specific categories so as much of the stuff we love can get mentions as possible.

Who are the 2021 People's Choice Awards nominees?

Justin Bieber leads the nominees this year (surprise, surprise) with 10 nominations, followed by Lil Nas X with six and Olivia Rodrigo and Doja Cat with five each. Nominees were announced October 27, 2021 and voting for the final winners was open until November 17.

Unfortunately, voting for the 2021 People's Choice Awards closed at 11:59 p.m. ET on November 17, 2021, so the opportunity to cast your vote for all categories this year has closed. Maybe next year!
