When it comes to Grey’s Anatomy (Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CTV), the biggest threat is usually sickness. Plus, storms. This is Seattle, after all. But on Thursday night, Grey’s pushed one character over the edge from tough surgeon to straight up villain. We are officially scared of Catherine Fox.Catherine (Debbie Allen) and Richard’s (James Pickens Jr.) marriage has been on the decline since about five seconds after the pair said, ‘I do.’ At this point it’s difficult to remember there being any good moments between the couple. Thing went from strained to outright hostile when Richard covered for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) while she was committing insurance fraud to save a young girl with cancer. The fallout included the loss of Meredith’s licence and her job along with Richard and Alex’s (Justin Chambers) positions at Grey’s Sloan Memorial Hospital. Richard’s WIFE (all caps necessary) Catherine could have used her position as the OWNER (necessary) of the hospital to stop the firing of the doctors, but she didn’t. Wedding vows may be in sickness or health, but apparently, they don’t specify who is sick.[video_embed id='1789625']RELATED: 'Grey's Anatomy' stars disclose their off-screen medical skills[/video_embed]So far this season, Catherine has been upset when Richard worked for an at-home medical company. Catherine was also upset when Richard went to work at Pac North. And she was upset when he began a friendship with a friend from AA. She was also upset when he breathed (it's a safe assumption). Catherine’s frustration with her husband for putting his career on the line to help Meredith is valid, but even Meredith got her job back at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Catherine’s continued insistence to punish Richard and her refusal to apologize for not supporting him has now cost her a marriage. She’s #SorryNotSorry and now she’s straight up vengeful. Catherine’s plan to buy Pac North just to spite Richard is a textbook rich villain move. Richard could always work at another hospital, but there’s a good chance Catherine will buy that too. It’s scary to think what she would do if he actually had cheated on her. Don’t cross Catherine Fox. Don’t even slightly annoy her. Hell hath no fury like a rich woman who wasn’t really scorned.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: ‘Station 19’ cast tease ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ crossover[/video_embed]Catherine and Richard’s dinner party (yay to more Station 19 crossovers!) was a lesson in unhealthy relationships. Thankfully, Thursday’s episode also received some much-needed warmth from Levi and Nico.Still on medical leave, Levi (Jake Borelli) was at home when he got the news that his beloved Uncle Saul was in hospice. Levi and Nico (Alex Landi) rushed to see Uncle Saul and Levi used his uncle’s final moments to tell Saul that he’s gay. Then, Levi’s gayness killed his uncle. At least, that's what Levi thought. In reality, it was just unfortunate timing.Plus, there have been a lot of rare medical conditions on the show, but death by gayness is definitely not a thing. After Levi’s Aunt Gertie gave a quick peace out to her beloved husband, Levi met Uncle Saul’s actual soulmate. A man. Named Daniel. Who was definitely a man.Levi and Daniel’s meeting by Saul’s bedside was hugely impactful to see onscreen. Not only did the men showcase visual representations of what it means to be a gay man in 2020, versus 40 years ago, by having more opportunities to be out in both your professional and personal life, but the pair also performed a Tahara, the Jewish ritual act of purification that involves cleaning and purifying the body before it’s laid to rest. Encouragingly, Jake Borelli’s Levi continues to bring visibility to groups that have often been ignored on television.Levi learning that his uncle died feeling ashamed of who he loved was enough of a catalyst to push Levi to finally move out of his mother’s basement. That deserves a cheer on many levels. She may accept Levi for being gay, but her refusal to tell the rest of Levi’s family is no longer enough support. Plus, you grown, Levi. Do your own laundry.Alex Karev update: Texting Richard, but still in Iowa.Watch new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on CTV and catch up online anytime at CTV.ca.
