There has been a lot of chatter about Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s iconic “WAP” music video since it dropped on August 7. The song was already NSFW before it had an accompanying vid filled with cameos and guest appearances by singers Normani and Rosalía, and rappers Sukihana, Mulatto and Rubi Rose. And of course, there’s a hallway-strut and door-open by none other than Kylie Jenner that has the internet up in arms.So in all of that hubbub and hysteria, it would be easy to miss another (odd) cameo: James Corden. Did you know he has been living in the "WAP" mansion with Cardi and Megan all this time? And he would prefer his roommates quiet down!
The exclusive never-before-aired clip made its debut on The Late Late Show With James Corden (weekdays 12:37ET on CTV) and it's pretty clear why the host didn't make the final cut. Sitting in his personal study, wearing a sweater vest and crunching some numbers, James cannot help but interject as he hears the ladies discuss what exactly is “wet and gushy” (ahem). As Cardi makes a metaphor about parking “that big Mack truck right in this little garage,” James calls out to her, “Actually Cardi? My car is in the garage right now but I can move it. It’s not that big, we could probably fit both.”Imagine telling on yourself like this.As the girls go on to dance, throb, writhe and sing about all things WAP, James begins to lose his composure about the noise levels (“More like Megan Thee Disrespectful Roommate!”) and also about their strict social distancing policy (“That is not six feet!”).He takes a big of a playful dig at the Kylie drama, too. As the Kardashian sister makes her now-infamous strut down the hallway, James calls out to his housemates, "Is Kylie in our pod now? When did that happen? I wasn't told about this," and insists she produce two negative coronavirus tests to join their bubble. Dang, Corden don’t mess around when it comes to communal living! “I taught those girls how to do the splits and this is how they repay me!”[video_embed id='2011161']RELATED: Thousands sign petition to have ‘culture vulture’ Kylie Jenner removed from 'WAP' video [/video_embed]James is eventually reduced to having to mop up the water that's flooding his study for... reasons.Luckily, despite being quite the buzzkill, Corden notes in the YouTube description that he's not as bad as Right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro, who had the most boring and misogynistic reading of "WAP" lyrics ever and then complained about about the explicit content to the point even Cardi B rolled her Twitter-eyes at him. Look fellas, if you’re going to battle with either Cardi B or Megan Thee Stallion, we can guarantee you won’t win.Watch The Late Late Show with James Corden weekdays at 12:37ET on CTV.[video_embed id='2011374']BEFORE YOU GO: Viola Davis and Christina Aguilera love the 'WAP' video, but Carole Baskin’s claws are out [/video_embed]
