He's a little late but we'll forgive him.

It’s fitting that Chris Evans is most famous for playing Captain American since his most recent tweets prove that he truly is a man of the people. The actor’s latest social media dispatches were all about one of society's favourite TV couples, Jim and Pam. See? Evans gets it.

Like any of us on a weekend, Chris showed his love for The Office with a rewatch which he made known by tweeting about the warm fuzzies viewers continue to receive from Jim Halpert (John Krasinkski) and Pam Beasely (Jenna Fischer) and their romantic relationship.

“When Jim and Pam are having an off day but at the end of the episode they’re both leaving each other messages talking about the same things,” tweeted Evans. “Good stuff.” This is why we continue to binge repeats.

Our detective skills (A.K.A. having watched every season of The Office at least six times) tell us that Evans is likely referring to the Season 5, Episode 4 episode “Baby Shower.” Pam is in New York at art school while Jim is in Scranton at Dunder Mifflin. The pair continue to miss each other with their phone calls and are forced to leave messages, eventually leaving one another the same message at the same time. Just thinking about this scene puts us at ease. Plus, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) tests out Jan Levinson’s (Melora Hardin) new stroller in a manner that is peak Schrute – traumatizing and hilarious.

Following Evan’s first tweet professing his Office love, the actor confirmed that even though he received responses from Krasinksi and Fischer and understands how TV works, he has decided to act like the rest of us and pretend there is an alternate universe where the characters continue to be perfectly in love in Philly while Athlead thrives – even through the pandemic!

“Krasinski is my boy and I’ve met Jenna once, but for a minute I’m gonna choose to forget that and just enjoy the fact that Jim and Pam both acknowledged this tweet,” wrote Evans.

Evans and Krasinski go way back thanks to their Boston roots, which landed the two men and comedian Rachel Dratch in a 2020 Hyundai commercial for the Super Bowl to promote the company’s new Smaht Pahk, sorry, Smart Park feature. Nevermind, we like Smaht Pahk better.

Fans are understandably thrilled that Evans respects the love story of Jim and Pam as much as the rest of us. Celebs, they’re just like us! Kinda.
