Lady Gaga, who is organizing the fundraiser in partnership with the WHO and Global Citizen, announced last week that the Saturday night broadcast will be hosted by late night heavy-hitters Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and feature a variety of performance types. Stars will entertain with musical performances, interviews, sketch comedy and random cameo-style check-ins all live from their own homes. At the time of the announcement, Gaga had already secured the likes of Billie Eilish, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Lizzo, Kacey Musgraves, Alanis Morissette, Chris Martin, David Beckham and Andrea Bocelli.[video_embed id='1935646']Lady Gaga enlists the A-list for her coronavirus fundraiser[/video_embed]But wait, there's more! With the TV broadcast clocking in at two hours, that's eight solid hours of inconceivably amazing content coming to us this weekend and all for a good cause. The donations raised will all go toward the United Nations' COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which allocates funds to support countries' efforts to "prevent, detect and respond to the pandemic," according to a press release. Lady Gaga was clear during the initial concert announcement that she wants the One World show to be a celebration, with all the fundraising done beforehand. Last week, she said they had already raised $35 million with high hopes for more funds coming in leading up to the event."We’re really excited about this show because we didn’t want it to be a fundraiser. We want everyone to put their wallets away and sit back and enjoy the show," Gaga said on Jimmy Kimmel last week. You can watch One World: Together at Home from 8-10pET on Saturday, April 18 on CTV, CTV2, TSN, CP24, Much, MTV, VRAK, and everywhere CTV content can be found. The special will also be livestreamed on the iHeartRadio Canada app and simulcast on participating iHeartRadio Canada radio stations across the country.
