The third episode of Canada's Drag Race (Thursdays at 9pET on Crave), aptly titled "Not Sorry Aboot It," really gave us a chance to learn more about the dynamics between the queens, as a bit about feuding girl groups brought out some lingering IRL tension between Scarlett Bobo and BOA while Tynomi Banks dealt with the pressure of living up to her prolific reputation within Canada’s drag landscape. But first, we hope you paid attention in French class.

Pardon their French

etalk's senior correspondent and Canada's Best Squirrel Friend Traci Melchor made her first fabulous appearance (!) as she took on the task of judging the queens as they co-anchoring Canada Gay-M in English, French, and our beloved third official language, Draglish. It was funny, and sure a little cringe-inducing, watching  most of the queens try to fake their way through reading French, with Tynomi Banks giving up and spouting pure gibberish at one point. On t’aime pareil chère!We got to see a bit of Jimbo’s competitive side when she was stunned that her rather impressive Nancy Grace impersonation wasn’t enough to top challenge winners Priyanka and Lemon.[video_embed id='1997342']WATCH: Anastarzia Anaquway joins 'Can weTalk About...' to dicuss 'Canada's Drag Race' episode 3[/video_embed]

Dwolls versus Mooseknuckles

The queens formed rival girl groups to battle it out with rap reads in a musical number tapping into Canada's apology complex called “Not Sorry Aboot it”. First, they had to write a 15-second rap verse dissing the other team and then they had to record their verses with “Gravity” singer Ralph. Lastly, they got to work with Hollywood Jade, So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s season 1 choreographer. No pressure!Lemon’s team, the Dwolls, was noticeably stronger in the dancing department, with Lemon and Tynomi Banks' backgrounds as professional dancers coming through and Kiara having performed in several drag girl groups. Tynomi has even worked as a back-up dancer for this week’s guest host, Canadian R&B legend Deborah Cox. Fun fact, one of Cox's songs was used in a lip-sync between Ben De La Crème and Bebe on Rupaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3.[video_embed id='1986487']RELATED: Deborah Cox was 'like a deer in headlights' meeting her idol Whitney Houston[/video_embed]Priyanka’s team, the Mooseknuckles (if, like Anastarzia Anaquway and Rita Baga, you don't know a moose knuckle is, let’s just say it’s the result of a meaty tuck and a tight bodysuit) felt like they knocked it out of the park after their recording session. After all, Priyanka, Scarlett Bobo, and Rita Baga have all recorded songs that are available on iTunes, FYI.But that confidence seemingly evaporated after they stumbled through their choreography session. Starzy went as far as saying they should all prepare to lip-sync for their lives. Yiiiiikes. In the performance, the dancing overall was, let's say, uneven. The wide shots of the whole group were particularly jarring, as viewers could clearly see several queens were noticeably unsure of themselves, particularly Jimbo and Ilona Verley. On the other hand, Priyanka, Scarlett Bobo and BOA stood apart by serving equal parts fierce and funny. Priyanka ultimately rose to the top with her striking blue and orange runway look (though Brooke Lynn Hytes wasn't too keen on her style being bitten) and became both a mini and maxi challenge winner in the same episode!

This time, it’s personal

Backstage, simmering tensions boiled over between BOA and Scarlett Bobo, with Scarlett calling out BOA for not been being a good friend to her during filming. BOA seemed thrown by this, as earlier in the episode she explained that she directed her rap read toward Bobo precisely because of their friendship. The other queens chalked it up to jealousy. Meanwhile, Tynomi was in tears as she contemplated lip-syncing for a second time. She was especially shaken up because she is so well-regarded in Toronto’s drag scene, and wasn’t expecting to hear the harsh critiques she received about her performance and underwhelming runway look. Anastarzia and Ilona considered that her elevated reputation might be why the judges have been so hard on her.Tynomi’s fears came true as she landed in the bottom two next to Anastarzia, who was on the chopping block thanks to her confusing double runway look and the fact that the judges felt she was too stiff on stage (again). It’s a shame they haven’t seen the animated personality the audience sees when she’s in the werkroom or the confessionals where she comes alive. It was a close race between the two distinguished queens as Starzy served the essence of dignified outrage expressed in Deborah Cox's banger "Absolutely Not" by bringing her pageant queen energy, while Tynomi danced it out in a leotard she'd been hiding under her runway look. Toward the end, the queens almost seemed to be performing together by pointing at each other and posing close by.Though Tynomi lived to dance another day, Anastarzia proved she knows how to perform and made a graceful exit, choosing to forgo the traditional lipstick mirror message.Tune in next week to see the queens reduce, reuse, recycle and reign in frocks they make out of recycled material.New episodes of Canada’s Drag Race drop Thursdays at 9p ET on Crave.[video_embed id='1995702']BEFORE YOU GO: Stacey McKenzie talks racism and inclusiveness in the fashion world[/video_embed]
