Have you ever been in a panic at the disco because the music just won’t play? Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie has an evergreen solution. He joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots via video chat Tuesday night on The Tonight Show (weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2) to sing an at-home remix of David Bowie and Queen’s classic "Under Pressure." Seeing as how musical instruments and even the old Fallon stand-by, classroom instruments, are hard to come by in quarantine, the 12-person crew made good use of whatever they had in their kitchen cabinets. Who knew you could get such good sounds from a toaster?Urie and Jimmy took the lead vocals, harmonizing with one another beautifully, whilst The Roots played a variety of random items they had on hand. A frosting spatula! A butter knife! A flask! A pot lid! A toaster! And possibly our favourite—a Frisbee (which begs some serious questions about what dinnertime looks like in Dave Guy's house).
The segment was a cute quarantine-time pivot from Jimmy and The Roots' recurring "Classroom Instruments" segment where they sing popular songs while playing instruments found in a kid’s cubby hole—xylophones, recorders, etc. Before the COVID-19 forced us all into our own cubby holes, Jimmy roped Janet Jackson into a "Classroom Instruments" sing-a-long, where she giggled her way through "Runaway." Now, We've got to say, the kitchen prop improvisation may be even better than the classroom shtick. Either that, or maybe it's just that The Roots can make anything sound good.[video_embed id='1936640']RELATED: Jimmy Fallon’s daughter adorably crashes an interview because she lost a tooth[/video_embed]Also, can we talk for just a second about Brendon's cute quarantine hair? So luscious! The only thing that could have made this performance better would have been if he broke out the Kinky Boots he must have a pair of at home from his season starring in the musical. How razzle-dazzle would that be?Watch The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV2.[video_embed id='1957458']BEFORE YOU GO: Our first look at ‘Canada’s Drag Race’[/video_embed]
