Last night during the Emmys, HBO decided to give us all a collective heart attack with an ad promo’ing their upcoming season with new and revived series. Blink and you missed it, but in that commercial included *does the math* a total FOUR SECONDS of new footage from And Just Like That… the new Sex And the City series.

Three clips in that four seconds aren’t much to go on, so we’re gonna need HBO to drop the full series trailer stat.

In those four seconds, we see Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) standing in an event space (could either be a restaurant, a shop, or an art gallery, it’s hard to tell from FOUR SECONDS). They all turn their heads to enthusiastically welcome an unseen fourth person off-screen.

Then the scene shifts to what appears to be the home kitchen of Carrie and Mr. Big (Chris Noth). At first his arms are wrapped around her waist from behind and they gently sway together. Then, she wraps her arms around his neck and they go in for a killer Bradshaw-Big kiss.

Look, as any woman will tell ya, four seconds is NEVER enough.

There has been a lot of ink spilled since the news broke in January that we would be getting a sequel series to the iconic late 90s show.  The show is definitely keeping a lot of details under a lock and key, but what we do know is that the series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, “as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

As for the men we so loved and adored from the last series, Noth is joined by Mario Cantone (Anthony), David Eigenberg (Steve), Willie Garson (Stanford) and Evan Handler (Harry).

Of course, as we all know now, Kim Cattrall will not be returning as the iconic Samantha Jones, after participating in all six seasons of SATC and the two feature movie.

Cattrall was very vocal a few years ago about the poor treatment she felt she received from Sarah Jessica Parker on set, even going so far as to admonish SJP on social media (“You are not my family. You are not my friend”). She also refused to sign on to a potential third movie that was in the works because, as she put it, everyone knew she didn’t want to continue, and she wanted to move on with her life. We can’t fault her for that—it seems perfectly reasonable. What we just don’t know is how the show is going to address her absence. After all, she arguably put the “sex” in Sex and the City.

What we do know is that the show has hired some new characters and faces, like Sara Ramirez to play Che Diaz, so perhaps some of the issues and critiques of the original show can be righted with this new era.

Also, if you are jonesing for more of the fashion of the show, here is a full-length shot of what Carrie and Miranda are wearing in that sneak peek. Remember in the first movie when Carrie lamented, “I put a bird on my head!” The feather motif continues!

Other shows also spotted in the promo include new footage from the new seasons of HBO’s Insecure and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Euphoria, along with sneak peeks at new HBO Max series Peacemaker and The Sex Lives of College Girls.
