Stand Up To Cancer 2021 (SU2C) is back with another star-studded broadcast on August 21 for its seventh biennial televised fundraising special, which supports funding for urgently needed research and new treatments for cancer.

This year’s commercial-free show will be co-produced by host Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth and co-hosted by Anthony Anderson, Ken Jeong, Tran Ho and Sofia Vergara, who herself is a thyroid cancer survivor.

Other celebrities lending their support to help raise funds for cancer research, including participating in video chats with donors during the telecast are Alison Sweeney, Cecily Strong, Chandra Wilson, Ciara, Danai Gurira, Deon Cole, Ed Helms, Italia Ricci, Jaime Camil, Jennifer Garner, Kate del Castillo, Kyle MacLachlan, Matthew McConaughey, Max Greenfield, Michael Peña, MJ Rodriguez, Tony Hale, and Tony and October Gonzalez.

“Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S. and the leading cause in Canada,” said Reese Witherspoon. “Unfortunately, too many of us have a personal experience with this disease."

"I’m proud to highlight the amazing doctors and scientists of Stand Up To Cancer who work tirelessly on important cancer research, innovative treatments and much needed patient care,” she added.

The special will help bring awareness and raise funds for the fight against cancer and accelerate collaborative cancer research.

A special segment during the event will also feature appearances from Canadian news and sportscasters Bryan Mudryk (TSN), Danielle Michaud (Sportsnet), and Murdoch Mysteries star Yannick Bisson, who share their personal connections to cancer.

Other Canadian celebrities supporting the televised special include Cottage Life’s Adam Holman from Cottage Coach, Family Feud Canada host Gerry Dee, along with Heartland cast members, Amber Marshall and Shaun Johnston, the cast of Family Law, including Jewel Staite, Victor Garber, Zach Smadu and Genelle Williams, and Nurses cast members Tiera Skovbye and Sandy Sidhu and more.

This year's fundraising special will honour the beloved Chadwick Boseman with a special tribute by his wife Simone and host Anthony Anderson. Boseman passed away last year at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer. 

Stand Up To Cancer has raised over $603 million to help bring together more than 1,950 scientists from over 210 leading institutions to collaborate towards ending cancer's reign as a leading cause of death worldwide.
