Sometimes what you see on screen comes from real emotion, and for Rachel Bilson, that happened during an O.C. kissing scene between Adam Brody and Samaire Armstrong.

Bilson's Summer Roberts and Armstrong's Anna Stern were always in some type of love battle with Brody's Seth Cohen. Anna came along in season one and tried to have a serious relationship with Seth, but he was always in love with Summer.

Once Seth began to date Anna for a short while, Summer grew jealous, but those feelings also transpired in real life.

During the latest episode of Welcome to the OC, Bitches! podcast, Bilson opened up about the love triangle that was taking place behind the scenes.

When discussing the 11th episode in season one, Bilson had some feelings arise. You know, that episode where Seth was juggling kissing both Summer and Anna at our first Thanksgiving in the Cohen household. At first, they had no clue, but it all backfired when Summer and Anna came face-to-face and ended up storming out of the house.

"When Seth is in the bedroom with Anna and she goes to kiss him, I see Samaire like slip tongue," she said. "I get transported back to 18 years ago and I get a little jealous."

"It was like the real-life triangle playing out as I'm watching it," Bilson added.

Bilson clarified what we all wanted to know, saying, "I feel like it definitely played out a little bit in real life for a minute, even though not really really, but I remember the tension with Samaire and I like a little bit."

It looks like Bilson was the one who won in the end because she ended up dating Brody in real life for three years while they starred as the iconic onscreen couple. They broke up in 2006 but have remained friends ever since — especially since they had to get married in season four after the breakup.

"We did get married after we broke up on the show, so that's always fun...That was like the only scene left to shoot was the wedding. You broke up? Let's give you a wedding!" Bilson told Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast in March.

In another recent interview with Nylon, Bilson said she was "grateful" for the support she had from the StartUp actor while they were dating and filming The O.C.

"Because of what the show was and how young we all were, going through it with someone experiencing the same thing and having that kind of support was really awesome," she said.

"I'm actually grateful that I did have it," Bilson continued. "It was definitely a unique experience, and I don't think anyone else could have really understood it had they not been in it, so for that reason, it was super helpful and supportive, and I have total gratitude for the whole experience."

Like we've said before, we need an episode of Welcome to the O.C., Bitches with Summer, Anna and Seth so they can all dissect 👏 that 👏 love 👏 triangle👏.
