COVID-19 restrictions are easing in the United States, so James Corden, who will forever be the geeky musical theatre kid, enlisted Ariana Grande (AKA Mrs. Dalton Gomez), to join him in a maskless rocking street party parody of Hairspray’s “Good Morning Baltimore.”

Appearing on a busy New York street in his bathrobe, Corden croons, “Woke up today, feeling okay, this is new. Got the vaccine and it’s been two weeks. There’s life in the streets! Hot people at brunch, and I’ve got a hunch, mimosas are gonna be bottomless!” He then turns off Zoom and shaves his matted quarantine beard to rejoin society.

Then Ari appears in a canary yellow Versace dress (okay we need to get that in our size) to jubilantly extol the everyday pleasures of haircuts.

The duo is joined by Tony-winning Hairspray star Marissa Jaret Winokur for a Tracy Turnblad duet about kissing on the cheek, getting drunk and getting matching tattoos. Ah, the good days.

They also give a cute shout-out to US immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci and our shared obsession and confusion over Bridgerton and NFTs respectively.

This is three minutes and eight seconds of intricate choreography, vibrant costumes, and we're here for every moment of it.

June 15 marked the end of most coronavirus restrictions in both New York and California, where at least 70 percent of residents have had at least one vaccine dose. Closer to home, almost 65% of Canadians have received their first dose, and almost 14% are considered fully vaxxed.

This is the first late-night appearance Ariana has made since she got married in May to Dalton Gomez, although she did wow the crowd a couple weeks afterwards with her iHeart awards "Save Your Tears" performance with The Weeknd.

In the series of pics she posted ahead of The Late Late Show, Ari showed off the luscious Versace dress she wore (even Donatella Versace is in the comments saying “Versace GOLD!”) and her high-platform shoes. And, yep, we spy that wedding ring on her left hand.

Now, remember, if you want to sing in the streets like these thespians, continue to wash your hands, wear a mask, physically distance, and get your jab when it’s your turn!
