If you were wondering whether or not Sex and the City hunk Chris Noth would reprise his Mr. Big character in the forthcoming reboot, And just Like That…, we can confirm that yes, he “abso-f***ing-lutely” will.

After months of speculation, executive producer Michael Patrick King has confirmed that Chris Noth will join Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Kirsten Davis (Charlotte) as their story continues from navigating dating and relationships in their 30s (which you can still fully enjoy on Crave) to new challenges in their 50s.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Chris again on And Just Like That…,” Michael Patrick King said in a statement. “How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr. Big?”

That’s what we, ahem, “couldn’t help but wonder” when rumours and whispers abounded that he wouldn’t return for the reboot, because Mr. Big had died off-screen (an unused plot from the never-made third SATC movie). Plus, Carrie’s old flame and ex-fiancé Aiden Shaw, played by John Corbett confirmed he would appear in the reboot, further complicating things.

Why does that complicate things? Well, let’s take a brief look at the complicated love triangle between Carrie, Aiden, and Mr. Big. *takes deep breath*

Carrie started dating Aiden in the third season of the show after two really bad breakups with Mr. Big. Big came sniffing around again, weaseling his way into Carrie’s heart, and the two had an affair. When Aiden found out, it broke his heart, and even though they managed to get back together in the fourth season, Aiden never fully trusted Carrie again and they broke off their engagement. After Carrie and Big married in the first movie (watch here), Carrie had a surreal moment in the second movie (watch here) when she ran into Aiden in a spice market in the Middle East. They had a brief kiss but Carrie and Big remained committed to each other.

Phewf! Now you’re all caught up.

Of course, we already know that Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, and arguably put the "sex" in Sex and the City, won’t be returning, but we do know that a new character, Che Diaz, will be played by Sara Ramirez, and even David Eigenberg, who played Miranda’s husband Steve, is in the mix.

SATC fans are definitely reacting to the news of Chris Noth’s return.

And Just Like That… (which will stream on Crave in Canada) isn’t set to start filming in New York City until the summer, which means we probably won’t have more answers to our questions until the show airs next year. Until then, here’s all the things we hope the reboot gets right this time around, after so many outdated blunders in the original series.

Stream Sex and the City anytime on Crave.
