Here's everything you may have missed at the 2021 Grammys

Harry being adorable; Meg and Bey being adorable; Lizzo being... you get it.

For the past year, awards shows have had to switch it up and get creative. Some have been almost completely virtual, others have tried physical distancing IRL, and last night’s 63rd Annual Grammy Awards had several stages hot at the same time, with performers able to watch each other’s sets with an awards stage completely outside the venue for ventilation. With that many stages, there was a lot going on, and if you missed these small moments, we are here to give you the full Grammy picture.

Off the top, ya boi Harry Styles opened with a performance of his Grammy-nominated song “Watermelon Sugar,” wearing an incredible David Bowie-esque leather outfit that set tongues wagging, so of course the behind-the-scenes wardrobe snaps were leaked to the internet.

His red carpet outfit was also the topic of much discussion. We love him in boas and need this picture hooked up to our veins.

Billie Eilish took to the stage directly after Harry, and if you didn’t know he was a Billie fan, ya do now. He was whistling and cheering her on from side-stage.

Billie was also feeling Harry’s set, as photos & video emerged of her gazing lovingly upon him (like we all do) as he performed.

But probably the biggest Harry Styles news of the night wasn’t his first ever Grammy win (although we are loving this for him), but that his ex-girlfriend and fellow nominee Taylor Swift rose to her feet and clapped vigorously when he won. There’s no bad blood here, and we can feel the love in the room. HAYLOR FOREVER! That’s it, we need our divorced mom and dad back together.

Taylor was even the first to rise to her feet when Harry’s name was announced.

If you’re wondering if they talked at all, we gotchu covered.

Honestly, we could go really far down this Harry Styles rabbit hole (like did you see the behind-the-scenes pics of him and Lizzo?! MY HEART), but there were other awesome side-stage Grammy’s moments that made us do the Leonardio-DiCaprio-pointing-at-the-TV-in-shock meme.

Like Bad Bunny bopping along to Dua Lipa’s iconic medley performance of “Levitating” and “Don’t Show Up.” Honestly, Bad Bunny is all of us right now.

And what about Post Malone revealing himself to be a huuuuuuge stan of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion? We half expected him to jump on stage during their rendition of “WAP” and join them in twerking. He is ALL OF US right here.

Probably the biggest surprise of the evening was the shock appearance of the Queen herself, Beyoncé (and also her husband Jay-Z). They so clandestinely and quietly slipped into the audience without much fanfare that we must conclude that they consider the Grammy’s to be a working lunch.

Look at how unfazed they are!

The Queen Bey had actually won earlier in the night when her song “Brown Skin Girl” won for Best Music Video, and daughter Blue Ivy, who sings on the track, was included in that win at the age of 9, making her the second-youngest person to ever win a Grammy. That’ll show all those 10-year-old slackers on the playground.

But when Megan Thee Stallion won Best Rap Performance for “Savage” featuring Beyoncé, Bey made history by tying the record for most-Grammy wins. Later in the ceremony, she won AGAIN and became the most decorated female artist in Grammys history. Meg also won Best New Artist, which hasn't been won by a female rapper since Lauryn Hill won it in 1999. Just bask in their glow.

Can we just say, the two of them up there on stage together was a MOMENT.

Another major win came for Taylor Swift who won Album of the Year, making her the first female artist to win the trophy three times. She’s now tied with Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder! When she won, she was clearly surprised, and it won’t take a lip-reader to understand what she exclaimed here.

So basically, the whole night, we got to see that big name rockstars, rapstars, and musician-Gods are just like the rest of us – big music fans. They love it when their favourite performer wins, they stan really hard for each other, they can be a bit awkward, and they can geek-out, like HAIM did for Taylor’s win. This is the 2021 we all need and deserve.
