2021 Canadian Screen Awards nominations revealed

The nominees for the 2021 Canadian Screen Awards are in!

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (the Canadian Academy) announced its full list of nominations for 141 different film, TV and digital content categories on Tuesday morning.

Cardinal: Until The Night, CTV's crime drama series starring Billy Campbell and Karine Vanasse, received 15 nods, while Canada's Drag Race received 7 nods, making it the most nominated reality/competition program or series. 

CTV's National News with Lisa LaFlamme has been recognized as a nominee for Best National Newscast, along with one of its reporters, Avis Favaro, who was nominated for Best National Reporter.

etalk's own Danielle Graham, Lainey Lui and Ben Mulroney have all been nominated for Best Host for a Live Entertainment Special for their work on etalk Live At The Oscars, while Traci Melchor scored a hosting nod of her own for hosting Drag Ball Presented by Craveetalk was also nominated for Best Entertainment News Program or Series.

The sixth and final season of Schitt's Creek leads both the television and overall Canadian Screen Award nominations with 21, followed by Cardinal: Until The Night and Trickster with 15 nominations each. 

The presentations will also honour the 2020 Special Award recipients, a group of eleven esteemed Canadians including Earle Grey Award recipient Tina Keeper, Radius Award (presented by MADE | NOUS) recipient Dan Levy, Lifetime Achievement Award recipient David Suzuki, and Academy Icon Award recipient Alex Trebek.
