Despite having her entire life available for consumption in her long-running reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian West has kept her and Kanye West’s relationship mostly off of the show, apart from a few choice moments here and there. But now, with their alleged split and impending divorce making a splash in the news, it appears that Kimye’s marital woes will in fact feature heavily in the final episodes.

A source close to the show has said, “The Kardashians intend to go out with a bang. They’ve filmed Kim discussing her marriage problems. But everybody involved is on a nondisclosure agreement, because the finale won’t screen until later in 2021.”

Page Six is reporting that the source also said the break-down of their union will be the main final storyline of the hit reality show that has been on our screens for over 20 seasons. Previously the show touched on some tension between the two, most notably in 2019 when KUWTK aired a behind-the-scenes convo the couple had about Kim’s iconic Met Gala dress, when the theme of the night was Camp.

"The corset, underwear, all of that vibe, I just feel like I went through this transition from being a rapper, looking at all these girls, and then looking at my wife like, 'Oh, my girl needs to be just like these other girls, showing her body off, showing this, showing that,’” he said to her in the episode.

"I didn't realise that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that's married and loved, the father of what's about to be four kids," he continued. "A corset is a form of underwear. It's hot. It's like, it's hot for who though?"

Kim responded by standing up for herself but also saying that his criticisms were affecting her negatively. “The night before the Met, you're gonna come in here and say that you're not into a corset vibe? You're giving me really bad anxiety — what are you talking about?"

"You knew last night that I was having really bad anxiety,” she fought back, “and I don't need any more negative energy for you to now say that you're not into me wearing a tight dress," she added.

When Kanye said her sexiness affected him as a husband, she said: "You built me up to be this sexy person and have confidence and all this stuff, and just because you're on your journey and you're on a transformation, doesn't mean that I'm in the same spot with you."

As we all know, Kim went ahead with the jaw-dropping, physics-defying dress and it was a triumph.

Another source close to Kanye told Page Six that Kanye’s involvement in the final KUWTK storyline will probably be minimal, but it was loaded with criticism for his soon-to-be ex-wife and ex-MIL.

“He understands Kim’s side has to spin that she is sick of him,” the source said. “In reality, he’s been sick of being involved with [the] Kardashians for a long while. Especially her mother, who looms large in all big decisions she makes.”

The source continued to say that Kanye also, “seems to be enjoying the brouhaha surrounding his divorce. He is quite familiar with what the Kardashian public relations machine is capable of, and thinks it’s funny that her team is blaming his presidential run on the marriage disintegration.”

2020 was a year of ups and downs (mostly downs) for Kimye. We first reported that their relationship was strained early on in the year because of the pandemic, and then when Kanye went ahead with his U.S. Presidential bid, he revealed private family planning details at a campaign rally. After he tweeted a series of explosive tweets that took aim at his wife and his mother-in-law Kris Jenner, Kim did something she’s never done before which was address Kanye’s mental health struggles, asking for compassion. Kanye eventually issued an apology, but their reunion appeared to be more contentious than loving. After spending months apart (Kanye at their Wyoming ranch, her at their Hidden Hills mansion), we learned a few weeks ago that their marriage was in crisis, but a last-ditch attempt at marriage counselling didn’t work.

They have four children: North, 7; Saint, 5; Chicago, 3; and Psalm, 20 months.
