It has been a week. Also: a year. And so as the weekend approaches we find ourselves more than ready for a new Miley Cyrus track. Thankfully, Miles dropped one at midnight, and better yet, it's featuring none other than the iconic Fleetwood Mac songstress, Stevie Nicks. Yes please and thank you ma’am. Cyrus’ new album—due out November 27 and appropriately titled Plastic Hearts—will feature a selection of new original songs plus covers of some of our all-time favourite classic tracks. Think: The Cranberries’ "Zombie" and Blondie’s "Heart of Glass." Fittingly, the Nicks collaboration is a mashup between Miley’s new "Midnight Sky" and Stevie’s classic "Edge of Seventeen." Yes, we loved it before we even heard a single note. Both singers announced the new track on Instagram, sharing a gorgeous photo of the duo, microphones in hand.

"Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration," wrote Cyrus in a post accompanying the same photo. "It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator." The pop star asked Nicks’ permission earlier this year, making sure she approved of the "Edge of Seventeen" sample used heavily in the song’s chorus. "I have an alternate melody,” Miley said she told Nicks. “If you don’t want me to kind of like pay tribute to you and your greatness and how much you’ve inspired me." Nicks, however, was 100% into it."You can borrow from me anytime," she told Miley. And we’re all the luckier for it. Listen to the new track below (volume UP) and prepare for it to be on repeat all weekend long.
