Look, if you don’t like the sweet angelic voice of Neil Diamond, you can’t sit with us. Actually, you shouldn’t sit with us anyway, we’re practicing physical distancing. Luckily, Neil Diamond has a song for that. The always lovable singer songwriter has just released a cute reworking of his 1969 hit ‘Sweet Caroline’ for the COVID-19 era and it is just what we need right now.Posted to his official Twitter account on Sunday, the at-home video starts with Diamond’s dog mugging for the camera (so already we’re hooked) and then it moves to over to Neil sat by a roaring fireplace and wielding an acoustic guitar in a way only he can. “I know we’re going through a rough time right now,” he says with a pleasant smile on his face, “but I love ya, and I know if we sing together, well, we’ll just feel a little bit better.”He then begins to strum the familiar tune of everyone’s favourite wedding reception jam, ‘Sweet Caroline.’ But there’s a noticeable difference to the lyrics for the corona-age. “Hands! Washing handing! Don’t touch me! I won’t touch you!” Man, those new lyrics weave perfectly into the song, and we are definitely feeling them.  In fact, we think this rework is  - wait for it – so good! So good! So good!To date, the video has over 47,000 retweets and over 125,000 likes. Dare we say it, this song is ‘viral.’[video_embed id='1925943']RELATED: Jojo reworks ‘Leave’ into physical distancing anthem[/video_embed]Diamond joins a whole bunch of other celebrities in reworking lyrics or singing away our blues during this global pandemic. Last week Jojo reworked her famous song “Leave” for the COVID-19 era, which was a huge hit, while bunch of celebrities like Gal Gadot, Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, and Jimmy Fallon got together to sing John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ (which wasn’t everyone’s favourite, tbh).Viewers of Diamond however definitely think his track slaps. They took to social media to praise him for spreading the word (not the disease).
