Miley Cyrus has officially confirmed what many fans have suspected for weeks now: her seventh studio album, Plastic Hearts, is on the way. And the really good news is that it will be here even sooner than you’d think. The “Midnight Sky” singer confirmed the release in a heartfelt post on Instagram, revealing that Plastic Hearts officially drops November 27. That means there are only 35 days left until you can’t stop jamming out to new Miley tunes. “I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole f---ing life,” Cyrus shared. “But no one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished… it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed,” she continued.

If you’re reading this… know that I fucking love and appreciate you on the deepest level. I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole fucking life. But no one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished… it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed. Nature did what I now see as a favor and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself. I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes. Luckily my collaborators still had most of the music that was burned up in journals and computers filled with songs for the EP series I was working on at the time. But it never felt right to release my “story” (each record being a continual autobiography) with a huge chapter missing. If it were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it “The Beginning” which usually when something is over we call it “The End”. But it was far from that. In triumph and gratitude I present to you my 7th studio record, Plastic Hearts. To be released Nov. 27th 2020. XXMC Pre Order in Bio. Photograph by: @therealmickrock

As friends do when you bare your soul to the world. Hailey Bieber, Travis Barker, and many more added words of encouragement or emojis of love. “Mullet Miley is superior,” added the official Spotify account, speaking on behalf of many fans out there.Plastic Hearts, which is already available to pre-order, is comprised of 12 original tracks including the album’s first single, “Midnight Sky.” It will also feature her live covers of “Heart of Glass” by Blondie and “Zombie” by The Cranberries. Meanwhile, in addition to announcing the album itself Cyrus also shared the new cover art, which is a total black-and-pink mood and features a shot of the performer by legendary 1970s rock photographer Mick Rock. The release marks Miley’s first full-length project in about three years, which is doubly impressive when you consider that she’s also spent the past few months shooting her own Instagram show and trying to help out charitable causes. Previously the soon-to-be 28 year old (her birthday is the same week as the Plastic Hearts release) had revealed a trio of EPs was on the way, starting with She Is Coming. But after a public separation from Liam Hemsworth in summer 2019 she nixed the next two installments, She Is Here and She Is Everything.Instead, Cyrus followed her heart, and after vocal cord surgery she invoked more rock than pop in her work. It all led to her conceptualizing this album. “I learned a lot in the last year that don’t make plans because things just constantly change. It makes you feel like super stuck to structure and inflexible,” Cyrus previously told Zane Lowe on Apple Music.“Kind of the way that [“Midnight Sky”] came about, I was feeling like it didn’t make sense for me to continue the next two projects,” she continued. “I felt like for my life the way it evolves and constantly changes, the way I change, how public my experiences are, it doesn’t make sense for me to wrap up that body of time in just a few songs.”Fans who need a Miley fix ahead of her November 27 album release can check out her MTV Unplugged special, Miley Cyrus Backyard Sessions, on CTV.ca.[video_embed id='-1']Before you go: Can you see the face in the window of this old spooky house?[/video_embed]
