It’s a good weekend for Megan Thee Stallion fans, as the rapper proves that 2020 continues to be her year in terms of her career. Considering 2020 has been a dumpster fire, we prefer to focus on the positives. In Megan’s case, those positives include booking the musical gig on the debut of Saturday Night Live, “WAP” (her Cardi B collaboration), having the biggest debut streaming week of all-time, and now a hot new song with Young Thug called “Don’t Stop” officially out. Meg dropped the anticipated single on October 2, along with an Alice in Wonderland themed music video. And it looks amazing. The three-minute video is full of bright colours, sparkle, and artistic imaginings (including a CGI Cheshire Cat and costumes inspired by the Mad Hatter), which is all pretty much on-brand for Meg. As for Young Thug, he brings it too with a version of Edward Scissorhands as he snips hedges and works on Megan’s own blonde bob while she sits on an outdoor swing.Nine hours after the song’s debut on YouTube it had already been seen more than a million times. Given that kind of demand, fans were probably double excited when the rapper also announced a new studio album that’s coming this fall. While Meg didn’t reveal any further details, her fans know she’s been hard at work this year on new material.[video_embed id='2041288']RELATED: Megan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd land on Time 100 list[/video_embed]Aside from “WAP” and now “Don’t Stop” Megan also released “Girls in the Hood” this past summer and she did a “Savage” remix with Beyoncé in April. That’s in addition to the release of her third extended play album, Suga, which she released in March. And, as if that weren’t enough to celebrate, TIME Magazine also included the rapper among their most influential people of the year issue, naming her alongside the likes of The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, and Harry and Meghan. While fans wait for the new album, at least they have this new music to listen to. They also still have Meg’s October 3 performance on Saturday Night Live to tune into. She’ll join host Chris Rock for the 46th season premiere, which also brings Maya Rudolph back to play Kamala Harris, and introduces new season regular Jim Carrey as Joe Biden.Naturally, fans have no doubt that she’ll slay it on that 30 Rock stage.[video_embed id='2030335']BEFORE YOU GO: Cat attempts daily hilarious attack on mail carrier[/video_embed]
