There has not been nearly enough good news in 2020, but thankfully, Megan Thee Stallion is helping to rectify that. The rapper has just announced that her highly anticipated debut album will drop on November 20. Titled Good News, Megan shared the album artwork on her Instagram on November 12 and thanked fans for their support throughout her career, including an extremely difficult 2020.“Hotties, I first want to say thank you for riding with me, growing with me, and staying down with me since my first mixtape Rich Ratchet,” wrote Megan next to an image of the musician inside a glass box. The sexy and poignant album art shows Megan holding a newspaper standing in front of a wall plastered with actual headlines and excerpts from interviews with Megan, including comments about the 25-year-old's commitment to using her platform to celebrate and speak out about violence against Black women. “Through this rough ass year we’ve all been having I felt like we could all use a lil bit of good news,” continued Megan. The “Savage” rapper also confirmed that Good News will be released on November 20 and is available for preorder starting now.

This year has been terrible for everyone, but Megan Thee Stallion has had some especially low lows, including being shot by her former friend, Tory Lanez. The Canadian rapper reportedly shot Megan in both her feet in July after the two had a disagreement. Megan underwent emergency surgery to have the bullets removed and thankfully made a full physical recovery. Megan has publicly named Lanez as her shooter, which he denies. Lanez was charged in October with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle. If convicted, he faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison.[video_embed id='2059622']RELATED: Tory Lanez addresses Megan Thee Stallion shooting allegations[/video_embed]Thankfully, Megan Thee Stallion has also experienced some massive career highs in 2020. Her singles “Savage Remix” with Beyoncé and “WAP” with Cardi B have dominated at award shows and on the charts. In October, Megan was the musical guest on SNL and used her screen time to make a powerful statement about the importance of protecting Black women. In September, Megan was named on Time Magazine’s list of most influential people of the year and was given one of eight cover spots.
