Last week, Lady Gaga decided
to shelve the release date of her new album ‘Chromatica’ with no rescheduled date announced. “While I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this,” she wrote in a
statement posted to her Instagram, “it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.” She’s not alone, as many artists have had to postpone their release dates or their entire world tours, just
as Justin Bieber announced the other day. Naturally, Gaga’s Little Monsters were left bereft without Mama Monster’s guiding voice to see them through this tough time, so she decided to give them some relief by releasing the official cover art for ‘Chromatica,’ and there is nothing stupid about our love for it.Posted to her Instagram late on Sunday, Gaga appears in a pink wig, draped across a pink steam grate, and clothed in barely-there steel body armour that includes seven-inch nails, a robotic arm, and fierce boots that appear to have blades and tusks for heels. Gaga appears trapped behind the Chromatica seal that has appeared on all the promotional teasers for the album and for her latest single, “Stupid Love,” that is tearing up
the dance charts. The symbol includes the sine wave, which is the mathematical symbol for sound. We’re not 100% sure if she’s pinned to the wall or the floor, but Little Monsters everywhere are living for this quintessentially-Gaga artwork.
The follow-up to ‘Joanne’ and the ‘A Star is Born’ soundtrack has got Little Monsters everywhere shook. One fan called it the
best Gaga cover yet, while
many more were floored
that every album cover she’s put out over the past 12 years has been pure FIYAH. The
level of detail left many fans in awe, but the comparison between
Gaga’s posture and a popular illuminati image had some feeling like she was about to drop some knowledge on the world that we just ain’t ready for.Speaking of not being ready, Gaga was supposed to drop some knowledge with an announcement on
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon this past Friday,
but the interview went off the rails with her constant ringing phone and busy schedule, so whatever she was about to announce had to be delayed. But don’t worry Little Monsters! You’re not caught in a bad Chromance. She will make her announcement Monday night with Jimmy, so take heart that at least we have this beautiful artwork and ‘Stupid Love’ to tide us over.[video_embed id='1932827']RELATED: Jimmy Fallon's interview with Lady Gaga did not go well[/video_embed]
