Selena Gomez has been pretty active on Instagram as of late, and while we do like seeing her scarfing down pasta, napping with her adorable dog, and showing us all what an awesome big sister she is, it's her most recent post that we really love. Because it's all about her music. Correction, her new music. The "Bad Liar" singer has been hinting about fresh sounds for a while now. Earlier this week, Selena released a montage of black-and-white pics with "Look at Her Now" playing in the background alongside the caption "Something exciting is coming tomorrow." And Gomez didn't disappoint.According to Gomez's latest Instagram post, the title, art and track list are coming soon (though we already know two of them; "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now"), but she did give us a definitive date: January 10. Mark your calendars, y'all. She added in the caption: "This album is my diary from the past few years and I can't wait for you to hear it." Gomez and her fans have been referring to the upcoming album with the working title SG2 — a mysterious title, considering it follows 2013's Stars Dance and 2015's Revival — and it's already available for pre-order on Apple Music and Spotify. Do what you need to do, Selenators.
Selena has actually been sitting on the finished album for a while. She told Jimmy Fallon back in June that she was able to capture some "huge moments" in her personal life and put them into her songs. Presumably some of those moments will include her battle with lupus, her stint in rehab after her emotional breakdown, and the end of her relationships with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.Gomez also took a much-needed break to focus on herself after her Revival World Tour ran her ragged. If that's what she needed to do so she could gift fans with new music, then we're totally on board. And that time off has clearly paid off for her. Following Selena's recent release of "Lose You to Love Me," a.k.a. an ode to Bieber, she was rewarded like never before. For the first time in her music career, one of her songs nabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Selena took to Instagram to celebrate it.
If that's any indication, SG2 might not only be Selena's most personal work to date, but also the best music she's ever put out. Look at her now, indeed.[video_embed id='1833640']How did this Toronto band become Selena Gomez's favourite?[/video_embed]
