Attention little monsters, we finally have a date, name and sound for LG6! The highly anticipated sixth studio album by Lady Gaga is officially on its way and the Oscar winner is sharing details with fans who have been patiently waiting for new music. Well, maybe not patiently, but even Mother Monster can’t blame us for being overly excited.Lady Gaga announced her sixth studio album Chromatica on social media on Monday, revealing that the upcoming album, which for years has been referred to as LG6, will make its official debut on April 10. We have a date, we have a name, but what else do we know about the biggest album of 2020?

THE LEAD SINGLE

Gaga dropped “Stupid Love” on February 28, with the high-energy track drawing comparisons to past singles like “Born This Way.” The video was shot on an iPhone 11 in a partnership with Apple and focused on Gaga and her group of dancers battling in the middle of the desert while dressed as members from different tribes. It was Power Rangers meets Mad Max with a sprinkle of Step Up. Following 2016’s guitar-driven Joanne and 2018’s A Star Is Born, it’s exciting to see Gaga dance once again.

THE SOUND

Gaga spoke with Apple Music host Zane Lowe ahead of the release of “Stupid Love” and said that she wants her new album to be a part of her fan’s daily lives. "I put all my heart, all my pain, all my messages from the other realm that I hear of and what they tell me to tell the world, and I put it into music that I believe to be so fun and energetically really pure,” said Gaga. “I want people to dance and feel happy." In conclusion, just dance.[video_embed id='1911695']RELATED: Woman finds out her ex is dating Lady Gaga[/video_embed]

THE ALBUM TITLE

Speaking with Lowe, Gaga explained the Chromatica title as "All the colors, all the sounds," adding "We're talking about inclusivity and life." Calling the making of the album ‘healing,’ Gaga continued, saying “Sound is what heals me in my life, period. And it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about. It's about healing and it's about bravery as well. When we talk about love I think it's so important to include the fact that it requires a ton of bravery to love someone.”The singer added that making the album has helped her learn how to reframe bad times in her life and turn them into positive experiences rather than try to erase them. “That is Chromatica,” said Gaga. “I live on Chromatica, that is where I live. I went into my frame. I found Earth, I deleted it. Earth is canceled. I live on Chromatica.”

THE ALBUM ART

Gaga’s announcement of Chromatica included a pink image with the chromatica symbol, a soundwave, as well as the logo LG-6 in the bottom right hand corner. The singer confirmed that this was not the official artwork, adding “…but we made it for you to enjoy in the meantime.” The aesthetic of the not-album-artwork matches Gaga’s brightly coloured video for “Stupid Love,” which could be an indicator of the vibe for the actual album art and future videos.

THE MERCH

Following the release of “Stupid Love,” Gaga debuted a new line of merchandise on her website, including t-shirts, long sleeved tees, hoodies, hats and totes. Gaga has not officially announced a Chromatica-inspired line for her Haus Laboratories makeup, but the singer’s recent Instagram posts promoting the cosmetics brand has focused on hot pink additions that match the aesthetic for her “Stupid Love” video.
