It’s been five years since Adele dropped a new song, so you can’t really blame people for being slightly obsessed now that her new single, “Easy On Me,” is out. Of course, the fact that she also surprised everyone with an emotional music video is only adding to the buzz. So far, at time of press, the new ballad has been seen more than 23 million times.

It’s not just fans who are giddy for the new music—Adele has celebrity supporters in Drake, Alicia Silverstone, Niall Horan and more. On October 14 the Champagne Papi took to Instagram and shared a snap of the crooner on his Story. “One of my best friends in the world just dropped a single.” He wrote.

Meanwhile, Silverstone had her own method of readying for more Adele. In a video set to the new song, the Clueless star grabs multiple bottles of wine and booze from a hutch with the caption, “How I prepare for a new Adele song...”

Lil Nas X also sent some love Adele’s way when he hopped on Twitter in a since-deleted post. “Easy On Me is so good,” he wrote. “It's so crazy to think that last time adele released new music i was sitting on stan twitter. i feel like i'm 15 again.”

One Direction’s Horan also shared the love by posting the song on his Instagram Story with a heart emoji, while Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams wrote, “We luv to see it.” Others including Lauv, Fifth Harmony’s Normani, actor Marc Maron and even Burger King also chimed in with their love for “Easy On Me” and Adele.

Celebrities weren’t the only ones in their feelings over the first official track from Adele’s upcoming album, 30. Fans were also emoting over the raw lyrics, in which Adele sings about her divorce from Simon Konecki in 2019 and trying to answer questions from her nine-year-old son, Angelo.

“I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he's in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness,” Adele recently told British Vogue about Angelo. “It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that's a real wound for me that I don't know if I'll ever be able to heal.”

Meanwhile on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host attempted to explain the fan reaction with a very appropriate video montage, in which he included lyrics from the songstress’ previous hits.

Earlier this month in a statement announcing the November 19 album, Adele gave listeners a taste of what to expect. “I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones… I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart since then and this album narrates it,” she wrote.

Well, there’s no denying “Easy On Me” narrates a story. Now the real question is, will the rest of the album be as heartbreakingly beautiful as this first single? All signs on the internet point to yes.
